Warrgamay is an extinctAustralian Aboriginal language of northeastQueensland. It was closely related toDyirbal.
It is also known asWaragamai,Wargamay,Wargamaygan,Biyay, andWarakamai. The language region includes theHerbert River area,Ingham,Hawkins Creek,Long Pocket, Herbert Vale, Niagara Vale, Yamanic Creek, Herbert Gorge,Cardwell,Hinchinbrook Island and the adjacent mainland.[3]
