Waraqu Urqu (Quechuawaraqu cactus,urqu mountain,[2] "cactus mountain", also spelledWaraju Orqo, Waraqo Orqo) is an archaeological site in theAyacucho Region inPeru. TheChanka site lies in theLa Mar Province, in the west of theAnco District, near Sacha Raqay(Sacharajay, Sacharaccay). It is situated at a height of about 3,852 m (12,638 ft).[1][3]
Southeast of Sacha Raqay there is a mountain namedWanaku Urqu (Quechuawanakuguanaco, "guanaco mountain", hispanicizedHuanaco Orjo). It lies at13°07′13″S73°49′57″W / 13.12028°S 73.83250°W /-13.12028; -73.83250.[4]
