Rather than displaying it at theSummer Exhibition of theRoyal Academy, he possibly exhibited at his own studio inQueen Anne Street. 1807.[2]
It was acquired by theEarl of Essex in 1807 and hung at his estate atCassiobury House along with two other Turner paintings.[3] Today it is in the collection of theNational Gallery of Victoria inMelbourne, having been acquired in 1920.[4]
