Walter Charles Barnes (born January 19, 1944) is an American former professionalfootball player who was adefensive lineman in theNational Football League (NFL) for theWashington Redskins and theDenver Broncos. He playedcollege football for theNebraska Cornhuskers, earning consensusAll-American honors in 1965. Barnes was selected in the second round of the1966 NFL draft and was also chosen in the third round of the1966 AFL draft by theKansas City Chiefs. He played professionally in theAmerican Football League (AFL) for theDenver Broncos in1969.[1] He attended theUniversity of Nebraska–Lincoln.
