WKZW (94.3FM, "KZ-94.3") is aradio stationlicensed to serve the community ofSandersville, Mississippi, and serving the Laurel-Hattiesburg area. The station is owned by Blakeney Communications, Inc. It airs anadult contemporarymusic format.[3]
WKZW began operation July 7, 1975 on 93.5 MHz as the FM sister station toWIZK. The station was assigned the WKZW call letters by theFederal Communications Commission on April 8, 1998 (which were formerly assigned to thePeoria, Illinois legendaryKZ-93 and later,KZ-94.3 in the same market).[1] A few weeks later, the station moved to 94.3 MHz, which allowed it to improve its signal.
The station airs theMurphy, Sam, and Jodi morning show and is theflagship station forSouthern Miss Golden Eagles baseball.
