WKGB-FM (92.5FM) is a commercialradio station licensed toConklin, New York, United States, and servingGreater Binghamton. Owned byiHeartMedia, Inc., it airs anactive rock format branded as "92.5 KGB". The studios are on North Jensen Road inVestal.
WKGB-FM's transmitter is off Windy Hill Road in Binghamton, about 4 miles (6.4 km) east of downtown. In addition to a standardanalog transmission, WKGB-FM is available online viaiHeartRadio.
WKGB-FM signed on the air on February 11, 1989.[2] At the time, the station aired analbum-oriented rock (AOR) format. WKGB-FM took itscall letters from legendary West Coast rock stationKGB-FMSan Diego. After several decades, WKGB-FM and KGB-FM became sister stations, both owned by iHeartMedia.
In 2000, WKGB-FM was acquired byClear Channel Communications. Clear Channel changed its name to iHeartMedia in 2014. For several years, WKGB-FM carriedSixx Sense with Nikki Sixx a weeknight national radio show featuring the music ofMötley Crüe and other active rock andheavy metal music artists. It was discontinued at the end of 2017.
WKGB-FM carries the nationally syndicated programRover's Morning Glory in AM drive time.[3] Most of the otherDJsvoice-track their shows from iHeart stations in other cities.
Syndicated talk show Rover's Morning Glory has added two new affiliates with the addition of Rock WKGB/Binghamton and Classic Rock WAMX/Huntington.
