WJQQ (97.1FM) is aradio station broadcasting aclassic rock format. Licensed toSomerset, Kentucky, United States, the station is currently owned byiHeartMedia, Inc. and features programming fromPremiere Networks.[2]

History

The station went on the air asWSFC-FM on September 1, 1964. In 1966, the station was relaunched asWSEK-FM with aWestern andcountry music format.[3]

In 1981, WSEK-FM switched itsnetwork affiliation to theNBC Radio Network after having been withABC since 1969.[4]

In 1968, the station changed itscall sign to WSEK. On August 9, 2005, the station changed its call sign to WKEQ-FM; on August 18, 2005, the station modified its call sign toWKEQ.

On June 1, 2016, changed its call sign to the currentWJQQ, strengthening its ties to sister stationWKQQ (100.1 FM) inLexington, Kentucky.[5][6]
