TheVolkswagen Tavendor (Chinese:大众揽巡;pinyin:Dàzhòng Lǎnxún) is amid-size crossover SUV with three-row seating manufactured by the German automakerVolkswagen throughFAW-Volkswagen joint venture in China since 2022. It is positioned between the largerTalagon and the smallerTayron within FAW-Volkswagen SUV line-up.
The Tavendor was unveiled in August 2022. It is based on theMQB Evo architecture, sharing the similar dimensions and powertrain options with the similarly sizedTeramont and the larger Talagon.[1][2][3]
The MIIT released photos of the facelifted Tavendor on August 8, 2025. The exhaust outlets are moved, the hood features a chrome-infused shut line, and the lower grille is replaced with vertical air inlets. A new450 TSI grade is also introduced using a 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 engine producing 270 horsepower.[4]
The facelift model made its debut at the2025 Guangzhou Auto Show.
The Tavendor is fitted with turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine, available in two power output options. The base model will produce 186 PS (183 hp; 137 kW), with the more powerful variant producing 220 PS (217 hp; 162 kW). Both are paired with the seven-speedDSG automatic transmission withfront-wheel drive orall-wheel drive (4Motion).
