
TheVolkswagen ID. series is a family ofbattery andrange extender electric cars fromVolkswagen (VW) using itsMEB platform that is developed by theVolkswagen Group for a range of vehicles.
Deliveries began in late 2020. By November 2022, half a million vehicles had been delivered.[1]
The ID. series is the first series of cars from VW, purpose-built as electric vehicles.[2] Most of its production vehicles were adapted from severalconcept car models.[3] According to Volkswagen, ID. stands for "intelligent design, identity and visionary technologies".[4]

In 2023, cars from the ID. series were featured in the 2023 animated filmLadybug & Cat Noir: The Movie following a deal betweenVolkswagen and French company ZAG Inc. In the film, the character of Cat Noir drives aID.4, Gabriel Agreste aID. Vizzion, and Tom Dupain aID. Buzz, while Ladybug drives an electric concept of theVolkswagen Beetle. An animated Volkswagen spot featuring the cars and characters from the film played in movie theaters, to coincide with the release.[56]
The ID. Vizzion concept was first shown at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, featuring design traits that have now become a staple of VW's all-electric ID range. We've spied the new ID. Aero testing before and this production concept model shows that not much will change for the final iteration.
