Vladimir Gaćinović (Serbian Cyrillic:Владимир Гаћиновић,pronounced[ʋlǎdimiːrɡatɕǐːnoʋitɕ]; born 3 January 1966) is a Serbianfootball manager and former player.
Born inTrebinje,SR Bosnia and Herzegovina,SFR Yugoslavia before thecountry's break-up, Gaćinović played in theYugoslav Second League mostly withFK Leotar, but also a half-season withGOŠK-Jug.[1][2] In summer 1991 he signed withFK Bečej, having made 25 appearances and scored 5 goals.[3] As player he played as forward.[3] He played with Bečej until 1997.[citation needed]
After finishing his playing career, he became a coach.[citation needed] He was the assistant manager of Mile Jovin at Leotar in2003–04 season,[4] while next season he became the main coach of the team.[citation needed] In season 2010–11 he coached the under-17 side ofFK Vojvodina.[citation needed] Between 2012 and 2014 he was back to Bosnia coaching Leotar andNK Zvijezda Gradačac.[citation needed] In between he had a short stint as coach in Montenegro coachingIgalo. In 2015 he accepted a call from major LithuanianA Lyga side,FK Sūduva, which he coached in seasons 2015 and 2016.[citation needed]
Afterwards, he returned to Serbia and worked as the assistant manager atSerbian SuperLiga clubs Vojvodina andSpartak Subotica. In 2018, he was promoted to head coach of Spartak Subotica.[citation needed] Gaćinović led the team to an historical upset elimination ofSparta Prague in thesecond qualifying round for the2018–19 UEFA Europa League.[5] Spartak however went on to be eliminated in thethird qualifying round byBrøndby.[6]
On 6 June 2019, it was announced that Gačinović will once again be taking over the Spartak Subotica managerial position.[7]
On 6 October 2021, he was hired as a manager ofSpartak Subotica for the third time.[8]
His son is Serbian international footballerMijat Gaćinović.[9]
