Vitaly Bigdash[1] (Russian: Виталий Бигдаш; born July 25, 1984) is aRussianmixed martial artist who competed in theLight heavyweight division ofAbsolute Championship Akhmat (ACA). Bigdash has also competed forONE Championship and he has a formerONE Middleweight World Champion.[2][3]

In April 2017, Bigdash reached his highest ranking of #37 Light Heavyweight in the world byFight Matrix.[4]

Bigdash made his promotional debut challenging Igor Svirid for theONE Middleweight World Championship atONE Championship: Tigers of Asia on October 9, 2015. After weathering an early storm in the first round, Bigdash came back to knock out Svirid in the second round to become the new ONE Middleweight World Champion.[5]

Bigdash was originally scheduled to defend his title againstMarcin Prachnio atONE Championship: Quest for Power on January 14, 2017.[6] However, Prachnio was forced to withdraw due to injury and was replaced byAung La Nsang.[7] Bigdash retained the title by unanimous decision.[8]

He rematched with Aung La Nsang atONE Championship: Light of a Nation on June 30, 2017.[9] Bigdash lost the title by unanimous decision.[10]

Post-title reign

Bigdash was scheduled to face Leandro Ataides atONE Championship: Grit and Glory on May 12, 2018.[11] He lost by technical knockout in the third round.[12]

Bigdash was scheduled to face Yuki Niimura atONE Championship: Destiny of Champions on December 7, 2018.[13] He won via first-round submission.[14]

Bigdash was originally set to challengeAung La Nsang for the ONE Light Heavyweight World Championship atONE on TNT 4 on April 28, 2021. However, he was forced to withdraw aftertesting positive for COVID-19 and was replaced byReinier de Ridder.[15]

After a three-year absence, Bigdash returned to faceFan Rong atONE Championship: Winter Warriors 2 on December 17, 2021.[16] He by third-round submission via guillotine choke.[17]

Bigdash was scheduled to challengeReinier de Ridder for the ONE Middleweight World Championship atONE 159 on July 22, 2022.[18] He lost by first-round technical submission via invertedtriangle choke.[19]
