Vitaliy Gennadyevich Denisov (Виталий Геннадьевич Денисов; born 23 February 1987) is an Uzbekistani professionalfootballer who plays as aleft-back forBukhara. He is a former member of theUzbekistan national team. He is the son ofGennadi Denisov.
In 2003, Denisov signed a contract withCSKA Moscow. Although he didn't play in a match, CSKA won theUEFA Cup in 2005, and Denisov became the first Uzbek football player to win a European Cup.[1]
In 2006 he was loaned toSpartak Nizhny Novgorod who were then competing in theRussian First Division.
In January 2007, he was transferred to theUkrainian Premier League sideDnipro Dnipropetrovsk for a fee of €2.5 million.[2] He played there from 2007 into the 2012–13 season, making over 160 appearances.
On 13 January 2013, Denisov agreed to the terms of a three-year contract withLokomotiv Moscow on a free transfer.[2][3] On 5 August 2013, he scored his first goal club forLokomotiv Moscow on match againstKrasnodar.[4] On 26 August 2013, Denisov recorded three assists in aRussian Premier League match in a 5–0 Lokomotiv rout overRostov[5]
In August 2013 Denisov won monthly contest among Lokomotiv's fans and was namedPlayer of the Month.[6] He won this prize for the second time in the following May.[7] At the end of the 2013–14 season, Denisov was named the bestleft-back in theRussian Premier League by the Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union.[8]
On 23 December 2013, Denisov was namedUzbekistan Player of the Year.[9]
On 21 August 2018, he joinedPFC Krylia Sovetov Samara on loan until the end of 2018.[10]
On 20 June 2019, he signed a one-season contract withRubin Kazan.[11] On 11 January 2020, his Rubin contract was terminated by mutual consent.[12]
On 16 January 2020, he joinedRussian Football National League clubRotor Volgograd.[13] He left Rotor on 18 June 2020.[14]
On 20 September 2020, he signed a one-season contract withTom Tomsk.[15]
On 8 June 2021, he moved toBaltika Kaliningrad.[16] His contract with Baltika was terminated by mutual consent on 1 December 2021.[17]
Denisov made his debut for theUzbekistan national team on 22 February 2006 in anAFC Asian Cup qualification match againstBangladesh, in which Uzbekistan won 5–0.
