Visitors toThe Bahamas must obtain an e-Visa or a visa from one of theBahamian diplomatic missions orBritish diplomatic missions, unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.
Nationals of the following countries and territories can visit the Bahamas for 3 months without a visa unless otherwise stated:[1][2][3]
1 – 8 months for citizens of Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, 3 months for other citizens.
2 - 8 months.
3 – 8 months, 3 months for U.S. citizens or nationals residing in Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
4 - including permanent resident card holders who are visa-exempt for a maximum of 30 days.
Holders of diplomatic or official passports issued to nationals ofHaiti and holders of diplomatic, official or service passports issued to nationals ofCuba do not require a visa for the Bahamas.
Visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and official passports was signed withIndia but not yet been ratified.[5]
Visa exemption agreement for all passport holders was signed withRwanda in September 2024 and it is yet to be ratified.[6]
Indian citizens with visa issued by the United States, Canada, United Kingdom or any Schengen Member State can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 90 days.
Citizens of most countries that require a visa for entry into the Bahamas may obtain an e-Visa. However, this is not applicable to citizens of
Haiti, who must obtain a physical visa in advance.[7]
Citizens who normally require a visa can transit without a visa for a maximum of 3 days if they have a return/onward ticket. However, citizens of
Cuba,
Dominican Republic,
Nigeria and
Pakistan are only allowed to transit without a visa if they depart on the same calendar day. Citizens ofHaiti are subject to a visa at all times, including for transit purposes.
