Virius Gallus was asenator of theRoman Empire who was appointedconsul in AD 298.
A member of the aristocraticgens Viria,[1] Gallus’ early senatorial career is unknown. He was appointedconsul posterior alongsideAnicius Faustus Paulinus in 298. After his term as consul, Gallus was appointed theCorrector of theregion ofCampania.[2]
He had not converted to Christianity, and reportedly had a statue ofDionysus to which he made sacrifices.[3]
