Virgil Wagner (February 27, 1922 – August 22, 1997) was an American all-star andGrey Cup championCanadian footballhalfback for theMontreal Alouettes. He was inducted into theCanadian Football Hall of Fame in 1980.[citation needed]

Wagner was elected to no less than three Hall of Fames in 1980. They were his college Hall of Fame at Milliken University in Illinois, his hometown Hall of Fame in Belleville, IL, and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
