Vincenzo Leone[1] (24 July 1879 – 10 January 1959),[1] known professionally asRoberto Roberti, was an Italian actor, screenwriter and film director. He made over sixty films, mostly during thesilent era. He was married to the actressBice Waleran. Their sonSergio Leone became a celebrated director.[2]
During the 1910s Roberti made a number of films for theTurin-basedAquila Films, often featuring his wife in a leading role. He then moved toCaesar Film where he directed eighteen films starring thedivaFrancesca Bertini.[1]
