Vikranth Santhosh (born 13 November 1984) is an Indian actor who has appeared inTamil language films. He was introduced in the filmKarka Kasadara (2005) directed byR. V. Udayakumar and later appeared in other romantic drama films.^[3][1] Following his participation in theCelebrity Cricket League, Vikranth has moved on to work in bigger film projects.

Vikranth began his career as a child actor inAzhagan (1991).^[4] After pursuing Visual Communication inLoyola College, he made his lead acting debut withR. V. Udayakumar'sKarka Kasadara (2005), before appearing as the lead actor in other small budget films such asNinaithu Ninaithu Parthen (2007),Mudhal Kanave (2007) andAgathiyan'sNenjathai Killathe (2008).^[1] Vikranth then appeared alongsideVijayakanth inEngal Aasan (2009) and collaborated withRasu Madhuravan twice in quick succession, withGoripalayam (2010) andMuthukku Muthaaga (2011), portraying a negative character in the former.^[5] His contributions as a cricketer in theCelebrity Cricket League Vikranth's profile in the early 2010s and he began to work on more prominent films. He acted withSathyaraj inSattapadi Kutram (2011) directed by his uncleS. A. Chandrasekhar.^[6]

He had a cameo inSuseenthiran'sPandianadu, where he portrayedVishal's friend who gets slain. Vikranth's following filmThakka Thakka (2015), directed by his brother Sanjeev, became the actor's widest solo release, with actorsVishal,Arya andVishnu appearing in a promotional song for the film.^[7][8] Vikranth then signed on to portray the main antagonist inUdhayanidhi Stalin'sGethu (2016), appearing as a sniper with only one line of dialogue throughout the film.^[9]

In 2017, he appeared inKavan directed byK. V. Anand. He portrayed a supporting role whereVijay Sethupathi acted in the lead role. Filmtimes describes it; Vikranth is engaging and memorable. The movie was a commercial success.^[10] The next movie wasSamuthirakani'sThondan (2017) where Vikranth gets to play a pivotal role which he has performed with ease and élan.^[11] In theSuseenthiran's bilingual film,Nenjil Thunivirundhal (C/o Surya in Telugu) (2017), starringSundeep Kishan and Vikranth, has not been receiving great reviews by critics.^[12][13] In 2019, his films wereSuttu Pidikka Utharavu,Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu 2 andBakrid.^[14][15][16]

In 2022, he playing the role of Satan, a cold-blooded criminal in the filmNaan Mirugamaai Maara.^[17]He co-starring withVishnu Vishal in the sport action filmLal Salaam (2024).^[18] He then played in lead role in the drama filmDeepavali Bonus (2024).^[19]

His mom Sheela acted inPandian Stores. His brother Sanjeev directed him inThakka Thakka (2015). Earlier, Sanjeev had also worked as an actor, working on an incomplete film titledBeauty oppositeAbhinayashree.^[20] He is the cousin of popular Tamil actorVijay and nephew ofShoba andS. A. Chandrasekhar.^[21][3] He married actress Manasa Hemachandran, who is the daughter of late cinematographer Hemachandran and actressKanakadurga, on 21 October 2009 inChennai. His son was born on 23 July 2010. His second son was born in March 2016.^[22]
