Viking rock (Vikingarock) is arock music genre that takes much of itsthemes from 19th-centuryViking romanticism,[1] mixing it with elements ofrockabilly,Oi! orstreet punk, andfolk music.[1] Frequent themes occurring in Viking rock includevikings andNorse mythology, as well as Sweden's KingKarl XII and theCaroleans.
Viking rock is often linked towhite supremacy.[2] Many make no distinction between Viking rock and white power music,[2][3] and there is debate whether Viking rock is essentiallyracist.[1][4] Some viking rock bands, however, disapprove of racism such as the Swedish band Hel.[5]
Kuggnäsfestivalen is a music festival that caters to viking rock.[1]
