Gorthi Vijai Bulganin (born asGorthiVijay) is an Indian composer and singer who works inTelugu cinema.[2] He has produced few independent music videos and later continued as a composer inTelugu films. He received wider recognition for his work in the filmBaby (2023), for which he receivedFilmfare Award for Best Music Director – Telugu.[3]

Early life and career

Bulganin was born as Gorthi Vijay inVedurupaka,Andhra Pradesh in aTelugu family.[4] Later, he changed his stage name to Vijai Bulganin. Around 2014, he has moved toHyderabad to pursue a career in music and cinema.[5]Vaaradhi (2015) was his first film as a music composer.[6] Speaking toCinema Express, Vijai said thatBaby album is "a homage to the Ilaiyaraaja genre of music".[7]123telugu in their review of the film mentioned that "music by Vijay is a major asset forBaby".[8]Film Companion cited him as "the strongest pillar ofBaby".[9] Songs from the film were commercially successful, thus getting him wide recognition.[10]
