Victoriya Viktorovna Kalinina (Russian:Виктория Викторовна Калинина,IPA:[vʲɪˈktorʲɪjəˈvʲiktərəvnəkɐˈlʲinʲɪnə]; born 8 December 1988) is a Russianhandball player forRostov-Don and theRussian national handball team.[1][2] In 2016 she was part of the Russian team that won gold medals at the2016 Olympics.[3]
Kalinina played until 2009 forGK 53 Moscow. She then joinedZvezda Zvenigorod, where she won the 2010 and 2011 Russian Cup. In 2013 she joinedHC Kuban Krasnodar.[4] In February 2015 she joinedHC Astrakhanochka.[5] Here she won the 2016 Russian championship. After the 2015-16 season she returnedHC Kuban Krasnodar.[6] In the 2018-19 season she took a break from handball due to pregnancy leave.[7]
Between 2020 and 2023 she played forRostov-Don.[8][9] Here she won the 2022 Russian championship.
At the2016 Olympics Kalinina won gold medals with theRussian national team.[3] At the2019 World Championship she won bronze medals, beating Norway in the third place play-off.[10]
At the2020 Olympics she won silver medals, losing to France in the final 25-30.[11] Kalinina had over the course of the tournament a save percentage of 24%.[12]
