Victoria Alcock (born 13 May 1968)[1][2] is a British actress.
Alcock played the prisoner Julie Saunders in all eight series of the television drama series,Bad Girls[3] and Agnes Clarke inThe House of Eliott.[4] In January 2012, Alcock was cast asLorraine Stevens (née Salter), the ex-prostitute mother ofMandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton), in theBBC soap operaEastEnders,[5][6] reviving the role fromLinda Henry, who starred as Salter until 1992. Her first episode was broadcast on 1 March.[7]
Alcock appeared in the 2009 Easter SpecialDoctor Who episode titledPlanet of the Dead, playing Angela Whittaker alongside theTenth Doctor (played byDavid Tennant). She also appeared alongside theSixth Doctor (played byColin Baker) on theDoctor Who Lost Story audio titledPower Play, playing Marion Tudor (who disliked being called "Mary"), a leading protester against a controversial nuclear power plant.
She is also known for playing Carol in all five series of the BBC's BAFTA-winning sitcom People Just Do Nothing,[8] dinner lady Val in Alan Carr's semi-autobiographical sitcom Changing Ends for ITV,[9] and as Sue in Sky's sitcom Mr Bigstuff alongside Danny Dyer and Ryan Sampson.[10]
