Vexillum collinsoni is aspecies of smallsea snail, marinegastropodmollusk in thefamilyCostellariidae, the ribbed miters.[1]
The length of the shell varies between 10 mm and 16 mm.
The shell is whitish, stained with brown at the apex, obscurely banded with bluish ash a little below thetop of thewhorls, and spotted irregularly with brown in the same part, generally between the ribs. The lower half of thebody whorl is cinereous brown.[2]
This marine species occurs offJapan, thePhilippines,Papua New Guinea andHawaii; in the Indian Ocean offMozambique.
