Vesa Lennart Kanniainen (born March 13, 1948, inRovaniemi) is a professor ofeconomics at theUniversity of Helsinki.
Vesa Kanniainen studied at theLondon School of Economics in 1972–73, working withinmacroeconomic theory andmonetary economics, topics that he was also teaching as Visiting Assistant Professor atBrown University andWashington State University in 1977–79. Most of his academic life, he has been working at the University of Helsinki. In research, he subsequently moved todynamic investment models, including tax effects and he started to teachcorporate finance. Later, he has given some courses atUppsala University,University of Munich and atHamburg University. He is aresearch fellow atCESifo in Munich.
