The2nd constituency of Vendée is a French legislativeconstituency in theVendéedépartement. It elects oneMP to theNational Assembly of France.

Description

The 2nd Constituency ofVendée stretches from the southern half ofLa Roche-sur-Yon to the southern edge of the department.

Between 1988 and 2012 this constituency consistently returned conservative centre-right candidates.to theNational Assembly. In 2012 the seat elected aSocialist Party deputy for the first time, followed in2017 byPatricia Gallerneau of theMoDem.[2]

Patricia Gallerneau, a member of theMoDem andrelated group, was elected to this constituency following the2017 elections. She died from cancer in July 2019 and was replaced by her substitutePatrick Loiseau, who sits in thesame group. Loiseau lost his seat in the2022 election, and was succeeded byBéatrice Bellamy.
