Veitchia is a genus offlowering plant in the familyArecaceae.[2][3]
It contains the following species, all native to islands in thePacific Ocean (Fiji,Vanuatu,Tonga and theSolomon Islands):[1]
From 1957 to 2008, theAdonidia genus had been merged intoVeitchia until being returned to its original status as a separate genus. This is the origin of theVeitchia merrillii name.[4]
