He representsMonaco at theDavis Cup, where he has a win–loss record of 10–3.

Personal life

[edit]

Vacherot was born inRoquebrune-Cap-Martin in theAlpes-Maritimesdepartment of France to parents Josse and Nadine Vacherot, and grew up skiing before deciding to pursue tennis.[1] Vacherot is one of four siblings, and is coached professionally by his elder half-brotherBenjamin Balleret, who previously played professional tennis as well.[1][9] Other professional tennis players in Vacherot's family include cousinsArthur Rinderknech andChloé Paquet, and auntVirginie Paquet.[10][11][12]

In October 2025, Vacherot and Rinderknech both reached the final of a Masters 1000 for the first time in their respective careers at theShanghai Masters.[13][14][3]

Career

[edit]

2022: Maiden Challenger title

[edit]

In 2022, Vacherot won his maidenChallenger title at theNonthaburi Challenger, Thailand, beatingLý Hoàng Nam in the final.[15][16][17] Vacherot became Monaco’s second Challenger champion and the first sinceJean-René Lisnard in 2004.[18]

2023: Masters debut

[edit]

He received a wildcard for the2023 Monte-Carlo Masters main draw, making his Masters debut.[11][19] He lost in the first round toLuca Nardi.[20]

2024: Grand Slam debut, top 110

[edit]

Vacherot also received a wildcard for the2024 Monte-Carlo Masters,[17][21] losing to ninth seedGrigor Dimitrov.[22] Ranked No. 136, he qualified for the main draw at the2024 Țiriac Open but lost his opening match to eventual championMárton Fucsovics.[23]Vacherot reached the top 120 on 6 May 2024, following a semifinal appearance as a qualifier, at the2024 Open Aix Provence.[2] He defeatedAleksandar Kovacevic, qualifierFelipe Meligeni Alves and alternateRichard Gasquet before losing to eventual champion and third seedAlejandro Tabilo.[24]

He made his Grand Slam debut at the2024 French Open after qualifying, becoming the first player from theMonégasque Tennis Federation to qualify for the main draw.[25][26] He lost in the first round to 32nd seedAlejandro Davidovich Fokina.[27]

2025: Historic Masters title and top 40 debut

[edit]

Vacherot also received a wildcard for the2025 Monte-Carlo Masters[28][29] and recorded his first Masters win overJan-Lennard Struff in straight sets.[30][31] He became the first Monégasque player to win a main draw match at the tournament since Jean-René Lisnard in2009.[32].

In October, ranked No. 204, Vacherot won his maiden title at the2025 Rolex Shanghai Masters as a qualifier, becoming the lowest ranked player to ever win aMasters 1000 tournament. After qualifying, he recorded his second and third Masters wins[33] by defeatingLaslo Djere[34] in straight sets and 14th seedAlexander Bublik in the second round.[35] Vacherot reached his first Masters 1000 fourth round following the retirement of 20th seedTomáš Macháč. He then upset 27th seedTallon Griekspoor, despite dropping the first set for a second time, to reach his first Masters quarterfinal and thus became the lowest-ranked quarterfinalist in the event history in Shanghai, and the first player from Monaco to reach anATP Tour and Masters-level quarterfinal at the same time.[36][37][38] Next he defeated tenth seedHolger Rune in the quarterfinals. Vacherot defeatedNovak Djokovic in the semifinals, recording the first top 10 (and top 5) win for a Monégasque player in history, and becoming the lowest ranked player to ever reach aMasters 1000 final.[39] In just Vacherot’s 27th tour-level match, he defeated his cousinArthur Rinderknech to win his first ATP Tour and Masters 1000 title.[3] Going into the Shanghai final, Vacherot and Rinderknech had each won 3 matches after dropping the first set.[citation needed] The cousins also collectively defeated 10 of the 32 seeds (5 each) in the draw.[citation needed]

Vacherot then received a wildcard into theBasel Open, however lost in a three set thriller to World No. 4Taylor Fritz, in the first round.[40]
