V. Nagendra Prasad is alyricist,composer and director who predominantly works forKannada cinema. He has written more than 3000 songs,[1] largely forKannada cinema.

Early life

Prasad was born on 3rd December, 1975. He is the elder son of M.V. Venkata Ramanappa and Chandramma of Ijjala Ghatta village inNagamangala Taluk,Mandya District.[citation needed]

He completed his schooling inDoddaballapura,Bangalore, and his Master’s degree in Kannada Literature atManasa Gangothri, Mysore University.[citation needed]. Prasad obtained his D.Litt (Doctor of Literature) fromHampi University in 2021.[2]

Career

V. Nagendra Prasad made his debut as aKannada lyricist for the movieGajina Mane directed byK. V. Jayaram in2000[citation needed].[3][4] He was appreciated for his debut as a dialogue writer for a supernatural film written and directed byK. Raghavendra Rao,Sri Manjunatha.[5] His debut as a director forNalla featuringSudeep has been remarked by many. He has also worked in music composition, direction, acting and dialogue writing for Television.[4][6] He is also known to be involved inTheatre, both on Stage and in Street plays.[6] In 2018, he made his debut as a lead actor in his own directorialGoogal movie. His other appearance was as a lead actor in the movieGuruji.[6]
