Víctor Felipe Méndez Obando (born 23 September 1999) is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as adefensive midfielder forColo-Colo and theChile national team.
On 28 July 2022, Méndez signed a three-year contract withRussian Premier League clubCSKA Moscow.[1]
On 12 April 2024, Méndez extended his contract with CSKA to June 2026.[2]
On 12 September 2024, Méndez moved on loan toKrylia Sovetov Samara, joining his national team and formerUnión Española teammateThomas Galdames at the club.[3] In January 2025, Méndez wentAWOL, failing to show up on time for Krylia's training camp.[4]
On 22 January 2025,Colo-Colo announced the transfer of Méndez.[5] CSKA communications director commented on the same day that the announcement is premature as the transfer contract is being discussed, but is not yet finalized and signed.[6] On 27 January 2025, Krylia Sovetov formally announced the termination of the loan contract with CSKA.[7] CSKA confirmed the transfer to Colo-Colo on 29 January 2025.[8]
At under-20 level, Méndez represented Chile in both the2018 South American Games, winning the gold medal,[9] and the2019 South American Championship
Méndez made his debut for theChile national team on 9 December 2021 in a 2–2 draw againstMexico.[10]
