Utila Fort is a fort inGwalior district inMadhya Pradesh, India. Utila is 20 kilometres (12 mi) east of Gwalior city onGwalior–Hastinapur-Behat Road.
It was constructed byBhim Singh Rana ofGohad State in 1740. It was mainly constructed to provide defense toGohad Fort.
The fort is situated on a hillock and is guarded by a deep trench which surrounds it. There are four high towers or burj surrounding the fort, the architecture of which reflects the defense strategy and architectural skills of theGohad Jat rulers.
