TheUtica–Rome Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by theUnited States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of two counties inCentral New York anchored by the cities ofUtica andRome (both inOneida County). As of the2020 census, the MSA had a population of 292,264.

The racial makeup of the MSA was 82.2%White, 5.8%African American, 0.3%Native American, 3.8%Asian, 0.1%<Pacific Islander, 2.2% fromother races, and 5.7% from two or more races.Hispanic orLatino of any race were 5.7% of the population.
