Usqunta (also spelledOscconta, Osqonta orUscunta) is an archaeological site in theAyacucho Region inPeru. It was declared a National Cultural Heritage byResolución Directoral National No. 024/INC on January 12, 2009.[1] Usqunta is located in theLucanas Province, on the border of the districts ofAucara,Cabana andLucanas. It is situated on a mountain of that name (also spelledOsconta orUsjunta) which reaches about 4,400 m (14,436 ft) above sea level.[2]
The prehispanic sites named Usqunta I and Usqunta II are also known asInti Watana II and Inti Watana III.[1]
