The station consists of two opposedside platforms, connected to the elevated station building by a footbridge. The station has aMidori no Madoguchi staffed ticket office.

History

Ushiku Station was opened on 25 December 1896. The current station building was completed in July 1984. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon theprivatization of theJapanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987.

In fiscal 2019, the station was used by an average of 12,444 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).[1]
