300 years ago, a Bach cantata was born:happy new year! --Gerda Arendt (talk)18:58, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

... inviting you to check out "my" story (fun listen today, full of surprises), music (and memory), and places (pictured by me: the latest uploads) any day! --Gerda Arendt (talk)14:25, 10 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Very nice.Wehwalt (talk)22:45, 15 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you today forFrank Hague, "about... Frank Hague, the political boss who dominated my onetime home state of New Jersey for many years. He has a dark image in history, perhaps justified."! - Thank you also for more featured content and good advice in the discussion how to treat "errors" in TFA blurbs! Bright trumpets in my music today, - two pics that I took, and one is in thearticle of the music mentioned. --Gerda Arendt (talk)08:16, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

20 January is the 100th birthday ofDavid Tudor (see my story) and the 300th birthday of Bach's cantataMeine Seufzer, meine Tränen, BWV 13, if we go by date instead of occasion as he would have thought, so see my story for last Sunday, and celebrate ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk)20:36, 20 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Any chance of persuading you to takeJim Irwin to FAC in 2026?Hawkeye7(discuss)20:20, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Jim is difficult because of the religious side. I don't have his memoirs anymore but could get another copy. I'm currently traveling, give me until next month to look into it.Wehwalt (talk)20:22, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Take all of 2026 if you like. I have a copy of his book.Hawkeye7(discuss)21:12, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
If you send me a snail mail address, I can post it to you.Hawkeye7(discuss)21:36, 15 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Another coinage at FAC?

[edit]

It was good to seeFrank Hague on the Main page today. By the way, I read through the articleUnited States Semiquincentennial coinage today. I suppose you will be taking it to FAC or GAN in the future?MSincccc (talk)19:26, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it will be written gradually as the story unfolds. I did something similar forApollo 11 50th Anniversary commemorative coins. The goal would be to have it available for July 4 TFA either in 2027 or 2028. Thank you for the kind words.Wehwalt (talk)19:31, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you today forBrass threepence, about "a small coin with a short but interesting history"! - I recall today in today's storyJesus nahm zu sich die Zwölfe, BWV 22, on the day Bach wrote it for, instead of the calendar date ;)Gerda Arendt (talk)08:35, 15 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
