REdundancy[sic]

You taggedTautology (rhetoric) with repetition. The article is about repetition so there is bound to be repetition in the article. I reverted to previous version(rollbck AGF) Just so you know--Gauravjuvekar (talk)05:55, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MOTDs (This space for rent)

[edit]

You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDshere. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using (This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated!·Add§hore·Talk To Me!14:09, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Bliss.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploadingFile:Bliss.png. However, it currently is missing information on itscopyright andlicensing status. Wikipedia takescopyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing theimage description page. You may refer to theimage use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page oncopyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make arequest for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here isa list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at themedia copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.Sfan00 IMG (talk)13:12, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:TheNowShow 20060804 Wikipedia.ogg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing toFile:TheNowShow 20060804 Wikipedia.ogg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used undernon-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go tothe file description page, and edit it to include anon-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described oncriteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make arequest for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at theMedia copyright questions page. Thank you.Sfan00 IMG (talk)12:15, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WikiIndaba and Wikipedian in Residence Notice

[edit]

Dear Vanderdecken

As a Wikipedian interested in African subjects and specifically Malawi, I would like you to be aware of the following two opportunities:

1. Wikimedia South Africa and WikiAfrica are organising an WikiIndaba for February 2014 – a continental meeting for Africa-based Wikipedians to get together, discuss challenges and drive the agenda for Wikipedia from Africa. If you support this initiative, then please sign up on this site:http://wikiindaba.net – we also want to hear what you want the Wiki Indaba to achieve. What are your expectations? What does it need to include? Who and what do you want to see happen at WikiIndaba? What is your area of interest? Languages? Data? Please share your ideas and thoughts on theCommunity Portal

2. WikiAfrica is looking for a Wikipedian in Residence from Malawi. This might be a position that you would consider. Or it could be the perfect opportunity for someone you know from Malawi, please spread the word! For more details, please look at this page:http://www.wikiafrica.net/wikipedian-in-residence-malawi

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you editedUniversity of York, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation pageStart-up (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). PC Gamer UK scan

[edit]

Hey. You list in the WPVG reference library that you have access to the August 2005 issue of PC Gamer UK. I'm working onThief II: The Metal Age and I'm looking for material on its fan expansion, Thief 2X: Shadows of the Metal Age. Apparently it's covered in your issue. If you have time, I'd really appreciate it if you could grab me a scan of the relevant page(s). Thanks.JimmyBlackwing (talk)19:20, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with File:Pangong faults.png

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploadingFile:Pangong faults.png.

This image is aderivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overallcopyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have createdin your upload log.Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described insection F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under anon-free license (perWikipedia:Fair use) thenthe image will be deleted48 hours after 12:50, 28 November 2021 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make arequest for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at theMedia copyright questions page.
