Hi. I know we've had a run-in very recently on an unrelated topic, and am putting that behind us (at least for the moment). I just thought I'd let you know that I've dropped a few notes atUser talk:Jeff.science. Cheers.--Trevj (talk)21:22, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
Yes, thank you, I had noticed. Personally I'm not worried about incivility (except in so far as it deters would-be new comers from contributing to wikipedia, which should be an issue we should all be concerned with). I'm mulling over whether to takeR&D 100 Awards to theWikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. I think I'll wait until the current AfD is over and the dust has settled.Stuartyeates (talk)21:29, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
I was just about to add sources actually.. Could you let me know what spesific claims you think require a source? The stuff I was writing was just a pretty simple explanation of how iPredict works.— Precedingunsigned comment added byNick3fry (talk •contribs)22:13, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
All information in wikipedia needs a source. That page in particular needs sources with in depth coverage in independent reliable sources, as per the banner.Stuartyeates (talk)22:23, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
You can ask for if you be userfied atWP:REFUND, but I cannot in good faith recommend that, since I don't believe you will achieve your desired goal of getting your autobiography into wikipedia.Stuartyeates (talk)03:21, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Wikidata weekly summary #35
Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
Development
Deployed new code on wikidata.org with a lot of bug fixes and a new Special:EntitiesWithoutLabel (all changeshere)
http://test2.wikipedia.org now uses Wikidata (click “edit links” at the bottom of the page), and we are working to enable the synchronization of changes to test2 and display links from the repository
Added wbsetqualifier API module
Added wbremovequalifiers API module
New JavaScript wb.Api now used for labels, descriptions, aliases and sitelinks
Improved Selenium tests and PHPUnit tests
Selenium tests now independent from ULS
Selenium tests for statements UI
Existing statements can be edited now
Filtering anons and Wikidata in RecentChanges on client now works correctly
Added extra checks on client RecentChange save point to avoid duplicate entries
Started an experimental branch with API methods for claims
Link to Commons Media displayed for Snak values of related data type
Improved styling of statements in JavaScript mode
Improvements in templating engine
Started working on adding Statements to existing section of Statements
I notice you've mergeJava Intermediate Language intoSableVM. However I doubt the claim you added that "Some versions of the SableVM use Java Intermediate Language, an intermediate language (which is a subset of XML) representing the type structure of a Java program." On of the two referenced papers only mentions it was used in combination with Soot. None of them mentions anything about SableVM. —Ruud00:04, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
You just added this tag toHistory of the Philippines (citations). You're right, it's not an article, it's just a list of citations which I transclude in lots of places. (Hence the name).
I'd move it, but it's not clear from the hat-note where to.
{{Proposed deletion}} should "only be used if no opposition is to be expected." When using this method of deletion it would be best to apply some logic.1977 is an upcoming album by one of the world's best knownrecord producer-artists. Whilst I agree the article might fall down onnotability nominating it for a prod delete without discussion is not a correct application of the policy. Its highly likely that in the near future the album will gain more notoriety. A search of Google forreliable sources as seenhere, shows at least 5 on the first page that could be used to expand the article. Also upon release its highly likely that more information would become available. This means that the deletion decision is controversial and hence you should have opted instead for{{Article for deletion}} instead. Finally if an album by a major artist is going to be released in the near future (a.k.a a week) it should be redirected rather than deleted. Btw this isnt me scolding you, its simply pointing out that the use of Prod was incorrect under these circumstances. —Lil_℧niquℇ№1[talk]10:38, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
I was doing new page patrol and see an article with no independent refs with in depth coverage and act accordingly. I've never heard of the guy myself.Stuartyeates (talk)17:22, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
I removed the PROD for theList of Syracuse Orange bowl games. Although, if I had my druthers, I believe that this content should be merged with the university's football article. However, this is one article of 30+ in a category where there appears to be an established concensus to keep the information regarding the bowl games seperate.
Syracuse University is a major US university.
This really doesn't meet the criteria of a PROD, since this would be a controvertial deletion.
In American college football, teams with a certain ranking and/or win-loss record are invited to play in certain special post-season "bowl games," such as theRose Bowl Game. There are many more of these "bowl" games around the country that are notable.Roodog2k (talk)18:56, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
I was just affording you the courtsey of why I removed the PROD, since it was blatently questionable. No explanation, per policy, is required when removing a PROD, BTW. I was trying to handle this nicely.Roodog2k (talk)15:21, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
Wikidata weekly summary #36
Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
Development
Deployed new code on wikidata.org. All changes can be foundhere
http://test2.wikipedia.org now useshttp://wikidata.org for getting language links and wikidata.org edits affecting the existing articles on test2 show up in RecentChanges (if they are not hidden)
Statements (think of “population: 2.000.000” and similar things) are taking shape in the interface. They are still pretty buggy though at this point.
It is now possible to link to images on Wikimedia Commons in a statement (think of “image: sundown_at_the_beach.png” for example)
No longer possible to create new items and set labels when database is set to read-only
Added more tests to the GeoCoordinate parser
Make use of EditEntity in removeclaims API
Removed many singletons to reduce global state
Made SpecialSetLabel work with non-item entities
Improved settings system
Improved options of ValueFormatters
Improved options of ValueParsers
Moved label+description uniqueness check out of transaction to avoid deadlocks and changed it to only be enforced for edits changing any violating values
Fixed serialization of SiteArray
~=[,,_,,]:3
Had to fix reporting of aliases in wbsearchentities again
Implemented integration of baserevids for statements UI API calls for editconflict detection for statements/claims/snaks
Universal Language Selector fallback fix for Selenium tests
Report URL to entity in wbsearchentites API module
Moved the demo system to a larger server
Fixed several bugs in Statements user interface, most notably, adding Statements to existing sections and layout fixes
Added wikibase API module on the client to provide information about the associated repo (e.g. url, script path, article path)
A bunch of messages for autocomments were fixed (they are automatically added as an edit summary for edits on items and co in Wikidata - for example: “Changed [en] description: Finnish rock band”)
As requested. Likely better you do it than the admin who couldn't program himself a hello world program to save his life (ie, me!)Courcelles06:27, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Changed item datatype to use entityid as datavalue rather than string
Added lots of new Selenium tests
Changed AbuseFilter so Wikibase can hook into it
Implemented new change dispatcher script
~=[,,_,,]:3
Working on combining successive changes to avoid watchlist clutter
Claims error handling (i.e. they now show error messages when needed)
Implemented initial version of Solr-based search for Wikidata in extension WikibaseSolr
Started investigating use of Lua/Scribunto for the Wikibase client
