Nick's RfA

[edit]

Sable, thank you for your support in my RfA. I was actually surprised that you supported me, and I hope everything in Wiki is going well. I can promise that I won't gotoo insane with my SysOp privelleges. And I hope I still keep everything in the real world great. I'll try to help with that.Nick.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

[edit]

I was pleasantly surprised. Seeing your talk page it can be seen that you make great efforts to be helpful in a positive way. People who will take time to contribute to the "greater good" should be admired. I aspire to be more like that some day. Perhaps Wiki will allow me to do a little something at least in a small way. Kindest regards. Mike CCL.

Thank you for your message and helpful hints. I am new to contributing to Wikipedia and am learning. I will check and add sources used for the article and attempt to understand Wikify

Thanks you for giving me a head up! Nice to meet ya'!

[edit]

No problem - I'm sure your motives were positive. I didn't know about "signing on as an IP" - indeed I still can't really grasp the concept - but I realise that I should have logged in using my username before editing anything. I still don't really understand how wikipedia works - edits are not automatically attributed to the person making them, it seems (cf. attribution of posts to Usenet or web boards) - so I was trying to "claim" my comment without realising that it could be mistaken for impersonation. Never mind, I live and learn. How do I set up a disambiguation page, btw? There is a page called "Parliamentary Debate" which is about competitive debating in schools, yet most adults (in the UK at least) would assume that the term referred to debates in Parliament. I've suggested it on the Talk page but it's clearly not a very widely-read page, so I thought I'd try and sort it out myself ... Cheers.

[edit]

I wrote the original article and all in it is verifiable. I don't know why it was rewritten.

"personal attacks"

[edit]

these people are attacking the validity and popularity of my site, so i'm not going to mince words. if they're going to delete me then they will, i don't care. these people are basing their opinions on terrible reasoning and i'm straightening them out.

i really don't see....

[edit]

what the big deal is. it's not like i just posted a link to my site and that's it. i went through the process of listing all of it's notable attributes. i think these people are basing their opinions on the fact that they've personally never heard of it. i've done everything myself and haven't had the luxury of having advertising money like myspace, so i think a little credit is due for something that came out of sheer will and determination.

Thank you!

Beranabus Artical

[edit]

Beranabus from the demonata should get an artical. He is a main character!

Sorry.

[edit]

It won't happen again. Just screwing around to see if I could. I'll add comments next time.

Your advice / comments please

[edit]

Hi Again!

I have made a few contributions in various forms including new or edited articles, and have asked for and received permissions for text and images, and up-loaded images for use in an article I am working on. Would you please review and let me know if I am doing this right? -particularly the copyright for images.

Also, I have a couple of subpages I use as my own "sandboxes" and experiments. I would like to delete these when I am finished - how do I do that?

Kindest Regards,

Mike CCL

Looking for an Estonian talk forum

[edit]

Hello! Athttp://www.thetriforce.com/forum/ (The Triforce) we're looking to 'twin' ourselves with a like-minded group of Estonians. This should be lots of fun if it works, so we can share all sorts of hijinks. Could you recommend us any? We're mostly interested in laughing, talking, trouble, mischief, drinking, music, videogames and well just about anything really. Good luck in your Estonia Wikiproject! I went to Tallinn for a day once, when I was staying in Helsinki. It was a really nice place full of friendly people and I want to go back sometime.

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Srose! Thank you for your contributions. I am abot alerting you that2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Thebiographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensureverifiability, all biographies should be based onreliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current55 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the{{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

ArbCom elections are now open!

[edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the currentArbitration Committee election. TheArbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipediaarbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to imposesite bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Thearbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome toreview the candidates' statements and submit your choices onthe voting page. Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Baltic)

[edit]

Hi. I see you are listed as a member of a WikiProject of a Baltic state.I was wondering if anybody who actively works on Estonian, Lithuanian or Latvian articles, would be interested in launching your ownWikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Baltic), based on theWikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic) andWikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea would be to try to bring about 1000 article improvements and creations on this region as an enjoyable challenge and potentially things like National Contests with prizes. If you'd be interested and think it's something you might regularly contribute to, comment and sign up atTalk:Baltic states. If there is interest we can move this to a project somewhere and set something up, thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk)19:26, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. TheWikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/IrelandWikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much likeWikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country likeWikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk)21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The sources on the Õhtuleht wiki article

[edit]

Hello. My name is Deniss, and I am from Tallinn, Estonia. I'm writing to you, because I've found your profile at WikiProject Estonia. I don't know, how things work here, cause I'm totally new to Wiki, so I'd like you to help me. I have noticed a false statement in the article aboutÕhtuleht, that it isowned by Eesti Meedia which also owns Postimees, which is not true. It is directly owned byEkspress Grupp, which is stated right after in the article.
