Thank you forApocalypse of Peter, introduced: "If you flip to the back of a Christian Bible these days, you'll find the Book of Revelation as the final book in the New Testament. But did you know that over in some rather plausible alternate timelines, there would be TWO books of Revelation in the back - the Revelation of John, and the Revelation of Peter? It took centuries to come up with a consensus New Testament; the contents weren't obvious. Our oldest surviving list that is close-ish to the New Testament, the Muratorian fragment, actually includes the Revelation of Peter as part of its canon! Some other early Christian writers seem to have thought it deserved canonical status, too. That didn't happen, of course, but it's interesting. (Although given some of the content, Christianity may have dodged a bullet here...) This article includes the latest scholarship, as there's been decent interest lately - Eric Beck wrote a 2019 book on it (the thesis it's based on is open-access, link in the article), Bart Ehrman covered it pretty heavily in a 2022 book on katabases in general, and a monograph collection on the topic just dropped just a few months ago, also free & open-access (link in article). I ran the article past Beck over email and he didn't have any complaints, so hopefully a good sign."! -Beethoven's remembered in my story and music! --Gerda Arendt (talk)11:22, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment in reverting the factual edits is demonstrably false. His actions in the Archives aren't allegations, and they aren't anonymous sources. They are proven facts. The FBI/OIG report is clear and unequivocal: Weinstein confessed on the record to investigators—after he was literally caught in the act during a covert sting operation during which he confessed to one of his survivors. Officials had a mountain of evidence in addition, from multiple survivors and witnesses. The DOJ was prosecuting, but the White House got it quashed. All of these are facts in the public record. There is no reasonable basis for you to prevent the public from having this information; all you're doing is protecting a confessed predator. Whether that's intentional or because you have not even read the FBI file is an open question.MuskogeeOkay (talk)04:54, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for all the work you've done with pseudepigraphia, which I've watched (and have seen notifications about on my watchlist about) with interest.
Sorry to say, but I disagree with your interpretation ofWP:ELNEVER inthis edit. There has not been, as far as I know, a comprehensive discussion on the matter. But seethis discussion for one. Linking to books at the Internet Archive which are gated behind their registration, like the Reicke book, is ordinary and (I contend) does not violate any intellectual property rights on its own.
True, theHachette decision disputes whether CDL is permissible, but the link itself does not lend the book. Someone following our link has to personally interact with the website by logging in and requesting the book -- so while "material that violates the copyrights of others per contributors' rights and obligations should not be linked", the material linked to (the landing page of a book with additional metadata) itself does not violate copyright. If the Reicke book wasnot gated, I would tend to agree with you.
If you disagree with my disagreement, that's fine. I just find the practice of linking to IA widespread, noncontroversial, and almost expected. Our FA review processes have not objected to such links for in-copyright works like Frantzen inBæddel and bædling.Urve (talk)01:14, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Knowingly directing others to material that violates copyright might be considered contributory copyright infringementis, IMO, an unreasonably paranoid position to take; ourarticle on the subject discusses some of the ways that our language is false. And as you hint, if it matters, the WMF should have a salaried employee do something about it. But even by that paranoid standard, I tend to think that if it requires substantial user input and the bare link does not infringe, then we're OK. Perhaps I'll start a discussion on the matter eventually, since the one I linked is not useful. Thanks for your interesting thoughts ... and, of course, I rather agree with your side rant :-)Urve (talk)02:46, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
SnowFire, where you mentioned at ArbCom "diffs provided in the ANI threads" and "all the behavior cited in that thread", maybe you could expand on what you're referring to? MaybeUser:Dicklyon/Annotated diffs will help you find something that I've done that people cited? My point is that not much of my behavior has been cited, and all I'm finding are the opinions I referred to, and the one thing about the tornado, and stuff from over a year ago. If you're able to help me see what behaviors you think have been inappropriate, that might help me. Sorry if this comes across as sealioning, as I've also been accused of.Dicklyon (talk)13:41, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is a joint note from myself andRisker in our capacity as election monitors. We wanted to thank you for remaining civil onWikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Candidates/Pbritti and for hatnoting the extended content. We also wanted to remind you that tone doesn't always translate well over text and that some portions of that section could come off as unnecessarily personal. To be clear, you don't need to edit anything in your comment, but we wanted to veer on the side of caution and issue a reminder anyway.ThadeusOfNazereth(he/him)Talk to Me!17:50, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I saw your past interactions onFascist Italy's talk page which is remarkable. But I just wanna ask about your opinion on changing the article's infobox into the historical era instead of the infobox country format. I believe Fascist Italy can be a broad topic where it can either describe the Kingdom of Italy from 1922 and 1943 or the Italian Social Republic from 1943 to 1945. I also made a comment about this on the article's talk page Thank you.RatMan7108 (talk)00:25, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User SnowFire,
I just saw Gertrude Bell's wikipedia article...and personally I would not put a coffin as the first image in her wikipedia article. But if you get into a content dispute, then reconsider your options. The reason why I edit more on Wikimedia Commons rather than wikipedia was all the edit wars maybe 10 or 15 years ago here. Some people get picky when its "their own photo." Still its good to know the grave is still there in Iraq, I suppose. Best Wishes from Canada, --Leoboudv (talk)06:21, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, @SnowFire, I have seen you reverted my edit inEclipse of Thales in this diff: [[1]], however, even if it wasn't the name Turkey/Türkiye, It's still plausible to use this name, so it's more recommended to use "Anatolia (Today Turkey)" *or something more formal*. Secondly, I put "possibly," meaning that was the most plausible region due to the territory of the two empires before and their borders, which makes it likely that the war took place there.
Furthermore, I don't know if you noticed, but it was written: "According to Herodotus, the change of day into night was interpreted as an omen, and interrupted a battle (sometimes called the "Battle of the Eclipse") in a long-standing warbetween the Medes and the Lydians in Anatolia (present-dayTurkey)."
So let's come to an agreement to see if you agree with my justification, because it doesn't make sense to revert it if it says Turkey, just correct it! But that's all I have to say to you, I eagerly await your reply, greetings.PixelWhite (talk)15:24, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
