Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2025 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor, we hope the WikiCup will give you a chance to improve your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be foundhere. If you have not yet signed up, you canadd your name here and the judges will set up your submissions page ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to theWikiCup talk page.
For the 2025 WikiCup, we've implementedseveral changes to the scoring system. The highest-ranking contestants will now receivetournament points at the end of each round, and final rankings are decided by the number of tournament points each contestant has. If you're busy and can't sign up in January, don't worry: Signups are now open throughout the year. To make things fairer for latecomers, the lowest-scoring contestants will no longer be eliminated at the end of each round.
The first round will end on 26 February. The judges for the WikiCup this year are:Cwmhiraeth (talk ·contribs ·email),Epicgenius (talk ·contribs ·email),Frostly (talk ·contribs ·email),Guerillero (talk ·contribs ·email) andLee Vilenski (talk ·contribs ·email). But my edit desc is: "first non exclusive was beautiful katamari. That's X360. That was... 10 years ago? 15? This game is for the people".
You being the editor that created that page doesn't give you a privilege to undo works of others, even if you don't like the edit. the edit is valid. The game was developed for PS2 for 2 games, and it says so in their entry, but saying the entire series is for it is plain wrong. please readWP:OWN.85.250.17.30 (talk)09:49, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have created a draft about Donald Mustard, video game industry veteran and creative director behind theInfinity Blade trilogy. Since I work forAGBO, where Mustard is now a partner, I'm not publishing the article directly. Would you please review the draft in my userspace (User:SarahCaruso/Donald Mustard), editing as you see fit, and move it to mainspace? Recreated' tag will now be added to pages that were created with the same title as a page which was previously deleted and it can be used as a filter inSpecial:RecentChanges andSpecial:NewPages.T56145With help from KungFuman I managed to create an article forÁngel (The King of Fighters). Sadly, I am having problems with my monitor and the old one I am using can't let me upload nonfree images in Wikipedia for some reason. If possible, could you upload the infobox image for the character?This might be the best image for the character since it's a concept art made by the most famous SNK artist, Eisuke Ogura, and can easily be found in the wiki or an artbook. The first round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As a reminder, we are no longer disqualifying the lowest-scoring contestants; everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned from Wikipedia. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receivetournament points at the end of each round. Unlike theround points in the main WikiCup table, which are reset at the end of each round, tournament points are carried over between rounds and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers.This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far.
Round 1 was very competitive compared with previous years; two contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 500 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
The full scores for round 1 can be seenhere. During this round, contestants have claimed 18 featured articles, 26 featured lists, 1 featured-topic article, 197 good articles, 38 good-topic articles and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 23 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 550 reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2, which begins on 1 March. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it onWikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Hello, I noticed that youchanged a part of{{Election box candidate no party no change}} to include a missing rowscope. I'm not sure if this is what is causing a massive change in the template, but I've noticed that the election box now doesn't match with other types of election boxes, as it now has a dark grey and bolded part instead of having a lighter grey and non-bolded part with the rest of it. Compare these two:
| Candidate | Votes | % | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firstname Lastname | 00 | 00.00 | |
| Firstname Lastname | 00 | 00.00 | |
| Total votes | 00 | 00.00 | |
| Party | Candidate | Votes | % | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Independent | Firstname Lastname | 00 | 00.00 | |
| Independent | Firstname Lastname | 00 | 00.00 | |
| Total votes | 00 | 00.00 | ||
I'm not sure if this was the intended result, but I personally don't think it should be different for these two. Especially since the "winning candidate" isn't differentiated anymore.reppoptalk20:49, 13 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey PresN. I hope whatever you're doing is going great. Perhaps this message will be a little corny, but with your experience with FA indie games, I think it'd be great to send this to you.
For over a year now, by the time I had only garnered a couple hundred edits, I've been working on the articleRain World, an indie game very special to me, as it's now my favorite video game of all time. I've never played Outer Wilds and don't know much about it, but I can tell from the passionate introductory paragraph in your FAC for the game, it is likely I feel very similar feelings to Rain World.
Though I've been making gradual edits on the page for a while, around January 2025, I had read your FAC for Outer Wilds, then Super Meat Boy, Tunic, and Doom 1993. I think your work on those articles had inspired me, because I started reading up on FA articles and essays about the criteria. I hadn't edited Rain World in a while at that point, but I started having some ambitions. I have been reworking the article for over a month now. I've done my best to find the most sourcing I can and making great prose. I don't want to say the article isready for FAC in case I manage to jinx myself (especially considering I havenever nominated even a GA before), yet I have already asked a few other editors to look over it, and they haven't brought many objections so far.
Now, I'm starting to have hopes that this will appear on the main page one day as my first high-quality work on an article. I've opened up a peer reviewhere for further comments and it has yet to receive feedback. Considering the absolutelybaffling amounts of FA's and FAL's you've written, I think your advice would help me out a lot. Of course, if you don't want you, you don't have to review this.
Thanks for reading. Good luck with your future content.Tarlby(t) (c)05:03, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The second round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 28 April at 23:59 UTC. To reiterate what we said in the previous newsletter, we are no longer disqualifying contestants based on how many points (now known as round points) they received. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receivetournament points at the end of each round. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned.
Round 2 was quite competitive. Four contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and eight scored more than 500 points (including one who has withdrawn). The following competitors scored at least 800 points:
In addition, we would like to recognize
Generalissima (submissions) for her efforts; she scored 801 round points but withdrew before the end of the round.
The full scores for round 2 can be seenhere. During this round, contestants have claimed 13 featured articles, 20 featured lists, 4 featured-topic articles, 138 good articles, 7 good-topic articles, and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 19 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 300 reviews.

Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia, and articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did toOuter Wilds. How is mecc.co a only hobbyist fan site when it has a strong connection and has worked with MECC staff members, as seen in their about info.[2]: "This website is a production of the Apple Pugetsound Program Library Exchange (A.P.P.L.E.) Despite that, not only mecc.co but the journalCall-A.P.P.L.E also reported 80 million copies of The Oregon Trail.[3]Kazama16 (talk)23:24, 2 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Wanted to double check this with you to make sure before changing anything. Currently I use the markup on WP:Ukraine SIA-Class talkpages:{{WikiProject banner shell|class=SI|1={{WikiProject Disambiguation}}{{WikiProject Ukraine|importance=low}}{{WikiProject Cities}}}}
I based using "SI" on howWP:Military history does it, though I noticed that they add the class param twice: (example fromTalk:Battle of Oslo){{WikiProject banner shell|class=SI|{{WikiProject Military history|class=SI|Nordic=yes}}}}
For WP:VG, the markup has List-Class for the banner and "SIA" instead of SI for the WP:VG template. I was thinking of having it so WP:Ukraine also uses "SIA" though wondering if you'd have any recommendations or insight about this. Guessing it doesn't make too much a difference but thought it would be good to check in case.DantheAnimator17:34, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The edit notice for thelist of best-selling video games has become outdated and hasn't been updated for like 8 years to reflect the current situation. I want to request you to editTemplate:Editnotices/Page/List of best-selling video games since I'm unable to because I lack the rights to do so.
This is my proposed text = "This is a data-based article and should be supported by trustworthy sources to ensure accuracy. Sales estimation sites such asVGChartz andSteam Spy are not considered valid sources for this list, as they do not provide verified sales figures or professional estimates. Care should also be taken when citing secondary sources; if they reference a questionable source or an internet leak rather than the official one or themselves, the credibility of the source in question should be evaluated before inclusion."Kazama16 (talk)21:47, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, PresN. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.
Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have atemporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with thetemporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.
How do temporary accounts work?

News and updates for administrators from the past month (October 2025).

I saw where you promoted my article yesterday (thank you!), but it is the only one of the whole batch you promoted to have been processed by the bot. Not sure what the problem is, but all of those other articles are still sitting at FLC. Just FYI.Bgsu98(Talk)00:22, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
