That is very good work on theWilliam H. Ryan, Jr. article. Take a look at the talk page, where I have added appropriate templates. When you create a new article, take a look at related articles to see what templates would be appropriate, and be ready to add them right after you create the article. Also, take a look at the inline citation I added. The quote is not ideal, but the article itself is interesting. Notice, too, that this is a reliable secondary source. Your inline citation is to a primary source, but reliable secondary sources are preferred. I believe Minnesota has special copyright laws that always use of statewide office holders photos. Similar to California. His predecessor as Governor also has his official state photo used as well. As do all Minnesota state office holders and most all state legislators. It is definitely not my intention to cause issue. If you are going to nominate these pictures for deletion then all other state office holders, state legislators and former Gov. Pawlenty’s photo and the former Lieutenant Governor’s photo should also be deleted as they were gotten in the exact way and licensed the way I got these photos. You didn't claim a public domain license but a Creative Commons license, and that was certainly not permitted by Minnesota. The head shot photo of Tim Pawlenty used in his article infobox was released by Pawlenty under a specific license, so it has nothing to do with Minnesota law. When you refer to Minnesota law you meanTemplate:PD-MNGov, I guess? That template is a mess and should probably undergo a deletion discussion. It already underwent one on Commons andthe outcome was that it should be done away with. I realize this can be confusing. There were no copyright issues in the previous article. US government works are in the public domain. Thus, as long as the information is properly attributed (which I took care of with a tag), they can be copied verbatim. This isn't to say that this is the best approach, but if that was your sole reason for massively changing the article, it wasn't necessary. Hello, first off happy Thanksgiving. I do not know much about Governor Perdue, care much about her, or anything of that matter. However I have been watching this page for a long time now and have seen various editors put their personal distaste towards Governor Perdue through various forms. I remember the approval section that was once on here that only had negative approvals, and positive, or less bad, got removed for no reason. I remember when her intro was just that she was Governor and then a list of controversies and approvals. The part of her being DOA on her 2012 re-elction. I have seen the various forms of attacks on her, for no other reason than bias I fear. The fact she has received hardly anything but negative coverage since her inauguration shows this. Funny how no one bothered to post about highlights such as her handling of Hurricane Irene. I do not mean insult to you, I am sure you are a fine editor with good intentions. However I fear many contributors to this page do not have the best interest of wikipedia at heart, and this section is a classic example of this. For the consciousness I have been on here with varying usernames for years, I know how that works. You post on the talk page and nothing happens unless it is an extremely hot button page, which this is not. If anything the uber biased editors chipping in. You and I know doing this will accomplish nothing. To the section itself it is well cited, but just because you give it references does not mean it is valid. The thing was clearly a bad joke and does not deserve an entire section. A mention maybe (really I think not), but an entire section? Not at all. It just irks me to see bias. Look at my edit history, I take off bias from Republican pages as well. I just can't stand it anywhere. So yes I took it off. However I understand you concerns and I feel we can work this through friendly and with compromise. I assume you would like it mentioned. How about we shorten it in length, synopsizes the quote put it under the fed investigating section and make one big controversy section. Or perhaps shorten the article as I said above and change the title to something besides Controversies, or maybe create a Governor section, add some items as well as this to it. I really do not like editing wars, no one does, and I do not wish to start one with you. I have no intention to do so. A happy Thanksgiving to you as well. : ) You bring up several good points about the article, and I certainly didn't mean to accuse you of being biased or trying to push a POV, so if you took it that way, I apologize. I'm not aware of the positive statements being removed as you mentioned, but maybe I haven't been watching the page as long as you. I especially like your suggestion of creating a section specifically for her tenure as governor; I think that could help the article a lot and we might want to give that a go in the near future. You're also right about the article not being a highly patrolled one, and I know what you mean about the talk page. I don't necessarily think that the article as it stands now is particularly biased, though. Articles can get in a state where they can appear that way just because of infrequent editing (often by IPs) that tends to get clustered close together when a news event (the election thing) happens. My only beef with your change was that you unilaterally removed info that was notable and sourced. As such, I do think it deserves a mention, but I think your suggestion of merging the Investigation and Controversies section is a perfect one! I'll try to do some work on the article to get that process started tomorrow or Friday. Additionally,Colonial America, theConfederate States, theRepublic of Texas, multiplestates and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December,WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators onall Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receiveawards.
