??????Not sure how this works, I was trying to respond to your recent msg about the Pigeon fever page, thanks for cleaning it up. Not sure how to chat with you or email you so I figured I would try and type here and maybe you would find it? I am horseman with lots of years in horses, so I see that I can't cite actually experience for my contributions, so over the years I have read, studied and researched horses, I have testified in court as a horse expert and can explain my opinions and beliefs but can't cite past experience. I was wondering if Wiki would consider a lifetime experience or expert Opinion section on a page? I am sure it would be a pain to control and to prove who is really knows and who just think they know. Just a thought. I notified from my horse site that no Pigeon Fever page was on wiki, so that is why I tried to create.
thanks again for help, not sure how to sign either, I guess I just put my username : rickgore— Precedingunsigned comment added byRickgore (talk •contribs)21:11, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - on May 30/12, you made a significant improvement to the articleComares. At the end of the section titled "History", you wrote, "It was considered one of the strategic points of theRayya (Archidona), then capital of thetaha of Malaga." The issue is thattaha is an ambiguous word, and I cannot figure out what meaning of the word fits the sentence. Can you please revisit the article and clarify the word/link - perhaps if it's a Spanish word, a translation to an English equivalent would be a good substitute?PKT(alk)15:38, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, thanks for helping to add coordinates to articles that lack them; your work is appreciated. However, the [[Coord}} template does not accept names such as "Nova Scotia" or "Serbia" as parameters; you need to be using "region:XX", where XX is one of the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes listedhere (or anISO 3166-2 code for a subregion within one of the countries). For more about the various parameters used in the template, seeWikipedia:WikiProject Geographical coordinates#Implementation details.Deor (talk)21:22, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Most of our language articles are sourced through their info boxes, so I'm reverting your recent tagging. I've submitted several bot requests as part of a wiki project to make the refs more obvious, but that proved controversial and was never done. —kwami (talk)09:29, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo, inthis edit you added a DEFAULTSORT and two categories, but didn't get it quite right in either case.
The Defaultsort should be the place someone will look in an A-Z listing for something. No-one looks under "The" or "A", so it's the way to make sure that this film will be listed under "Still". Unfortunately you specified the defaultsort as "The Still Point", which is just what we don't want it to file under.
You also gave the two categoriesCategory:Film andCategory:Australia. Both of these are enormous categories with hundreds of subcategories, and not particularly useful for someone trying to find this and similar articles.Category:Australian films or one of its subdivisions is much more useful.
There's a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia, but it's an interesting journey. Happy Editing!PamD09:30, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

When an article starts off with non-Wiki style prose like "A common sight on trees and bushes in summer months, the Arabian cicada (Platypleura arabica) is also well known throughout its range" and includes numbers which look like references but aren't, it's worth checking to see if it's a copyright violation. Pick a distinctive phrase, like "Arabian cicada has sucking" and google it with quotes around it ... in this case we find an exact match for the whole of the article, so it's a case for CSD G-12 as a blatant copyright violation. Worth checking when you're doing Page Curation.PamD22:27, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Careful with the unreferenced tags. BothAnastasia Chernova andClass of 1952 Stadium had references. Anastasia Chernova also had categories, so uncategorized shouldn't have been added either. Also, DEFAULTSORT goes after PERSONDATA. I see PamD has been bugging you too. As she said, there is alot to learn around here and it takes time. You are doing a good job and don't get discouraged. Only 4,304,583 things left to learn :)
You correctly added the unreferenced tag toBribri Sign Language and the creating editor removed it improperly. I re-added. You may want to watch that for the next few days. Hi, I seem to find a lot of your patrolled articles, because I do quite a lot ofstub-sorting! I noticed that you added a DEFAULTSORT to this one: great, but...WP:NAMESORT tells us that the "III" should go after the Philip in the sort key. It figures: in an A-Z list you'd want all the Ludwells together, then all the Philip Ludwells, before sorting on the "III". I've fixed it, but thought I'd point it out. Just another little thing to learn (that NAMESORT section is interesting reading - I messed up an Icelandic politician lately, forgetting their special rules!)
Actually I deleted almost the whole article, as it was straight copyvio from the cited source - but he sounds an interesting chap so I wrote a couple of sentences, sourced from that source.PamD09:10, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MrNiceGuy1113,
May I call you MNG? :)
First, thank you very much for your assistance in editing the "Neohumanism (liberation of intellect)" page. I especially liked the bolding of the first word in the article (definitely your work) and the addition of page rating and categories (possibly your addition).
In the days or weeks to come, I am sure this article will be expanded. However, there is one major task that needs to be done that I have not figured out how to do. Currently, a search on Wikipedia forNeohumanism takes you tohttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neohumanism#Neohumanism, which is just a small paragraph within a larger article on the propounder of this philosophy, Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. I have added a link (a 'redirect'?) at the top of that small paragraph to the main article, which isNeohumanism (liberation of intellect). However, it would make much more sense if a Wikipedia search for "Neohumanism" took one directly to the main article. Hence, I would like to edit the titles and destinations for the two links (Neohumanism andNeohumanism (liberation of intellect)), essentially reversing them. I understand this is possible. I believe it is called "usurping a link". However, I have not been able to figure out how to do this. Could you please assist me with the process?
--Abhidevananda (talk)06:51, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hope you are well. Thank you for your words and taking the time to consider me for your question. However I am sorry to say I don't have an answer to this valid question. But I did ask someone more knowing than myself, so I will await her message. Please feel free to ask anything else.
Oh and yes, you may call me MNG.
Kindest regards,(MrNiceGuy1113 (talk)07:05, 1 November 2012 (UTC))[reply]
MNG, I haven't had much luck asking others. Waited on the Help chat line for well over an hour without a single response to a much easier question there. So, for now at least, I'll just wait for the reply you get from the person you asked. Thanks for taking the trouble. Other than this matter, I happily do not have any other current questions/problems (Wikipedia-related).
--Abhidevananda (talk)08:45, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pam, thank you very much. Like you, I believe that this should be a non-controversial move. Certainly, no one who subscribes to Shrii Sarkar's Neohumanism will object to the move, given that the new article is much more informative, and having a dedicated article offers more scope to discuss the philosophy. No one else should object, because the Wikipedia link to "Neohumanism" already goes to the very same subject.
Your hatnote is a helpful addition to the Neohumanism article. Thank you for that.
When all of this is done, I will have one last not-at-all-urgent problem, which will be to rename the article "Neohumanism (liberation of intellect)" to simply "Neohumanism"... if that does not happen automatically. Even if it is not automatic (that is, part of the process of usurping a link), I suppose that it is probably a lot easier than usurping a link. Pam, perhaps you or MNG would kindly explain this point when you get a moment.
Again, thank you kindly to both of you - Pam and MNG - for your very helpful assistance.

I noticed that you've tagged a lot of articles (at least 45) with a generic {{stub}}, which makes more work for stub sorters. User Gnangarra and others are involved in an edit a thon regarding a project which has been held today - to tag articles on creation (or within 10 minutes of creation ) is way well beyondWP:AGF and allowing created articles to be adequately edited... also to follow them (the articles) with tags is outright bad faith... try looking seeing how many edits have been made by a user, also check to see - yes, he is an admin - very unlikely to create a taggable offence... best to investigate a bit further before tagging anything...SatuSuro09:17, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have noticed that you kept on adding irrelevant or useless sections or simply tagging section templates on my articles. Can you please stop doing them, especially when my articles are too short? Two or three paragraphs in my articles do not mean that they are necessary for building a section. Think again.

Careful again on the DEFAULTSORTS. Thisedit you forgot it was an Asian name. Also there needs a space after the comma. The space does matter as without it, it moves the article to the front of the sort order. In thisedit, the last name is Doctora and not Jr.

Quick rule of thumb: in Chinese and Korean names, the portion of the name with more syllables is usually the given name. Virtually all Chinese and Korean surnames are one syllable, with very few exceptions (Ouyang,Namgung, andHwangbo are the only ones you're likely to ever encounter).Hyphenated surnames are extremely uncommon in these countries and in virtually all cases if you see a hyphen, it is being used to join the two syllables of the given name. I guess you're doing the same thing as me - working through theCategory:Pages with missing references list to correct them.
I don't want to bitch, but it does seem that on more than one occasion you've been too hasty, and committed without checking results. For instanceThe Grapes of Wrath (film) - it quite clearly states at the end what the problem was (needed a{{reflist|group=amazon}}) but all you did was insert another{{reflist}} immediately before the one that was there, which didn't cure anything.
I take this exercise as an opportunity to apply other edits to the article too, if it grabs my fancy. So in this example (The Grapes of Wrath (film)) the simple solution would be just to do what the error message tells you. But the longer solution, and probably what the original author wanted, is to remove the group name from the <ref>.
I'm also keen on articles having proper citations, which aren't dead, so I often try to clean the citations too. That usually involves a change from a straight[http://a.b.c xxxx] style to a full-blown{{cite web}} because then I can add a date showing when the link was last checked. Takes time.
Like I said, I'm not really bitching, but if you don't do it right, then you're wasting your time.John of Cromer in Philippines (talk) mytime= Thu 11:19, wikitime=03:19, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi MrNiceGuy1113,
I have seen your edits and thx for correcting grammar errors. English is not native to me. Perhaps you could also have a look at ″O 1″ - ″O 6″ that I also created recently.
About the new layout I am not sure. It is my understanding that important dates are to be integrated in the text seeFrench battleship Charlemagne under ″Construction and career″ for an example. Plus they are also listed orderly in the infobox.
The source of the information is the link given under ″External links″.

Hi, I've noticed you are attempting to resolve{{unreferenced}} tags across a range of Indian articles. Unfortunately, I've had to revert some of these. For example, the Australian genealogy website (and also royalark, net) that you used is not reliable perWP:RSN, onefivenine often mirrors our content, and lists of Jat clans are 10-a-penny on the web but rarely with any provenance (again, they often mirror our content). In all honesty, I wouldn't trust websites for much at all when it comes to sourcing India-related articles - even the government and the newspapers regularly copy our content and so unless you are familiar with the things it is very easy to hit problems. In the case of caste/clan articles there is also an issue with ambiguity, since names are repeated and multfariously transliterated in completely different settings: it is a complete nightmare. -Sitush (talk)12:26, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MrNiceGuy.
I saw you tagged2013–14 ISU Speed Skating World Cup – World Cup 2 – Women's 3000 metres for refimprove. In my view, every claim in the article is backed by the reference. It is a single reference, but it is issued by the organizer of the World Cup, so I'd guess it counts as authoritative. So I removed the tagging.
Also, you might as well add the refimprove tag with the|date=October 2013 parameter set from the beginning, to reduce the number of edits needed in the project.

Re your recent tag: Let me just say that if you can find a second published source for this obscure list, short of rifling though every Sunday edition of the NYT from the year 1946, you're welcome to add it. It is my plan to eventually fill in all of these lists using Bear, the cited source, but I would hope you don't tag them all, despite the cited policy, as it is just too toilsome. Bear is a valid source. Other references may follow in time, from me or from other editors, but you don't need to remind me or what is likely to average 3 readers a day that there is only one source. Let's get these lists made, then we can worry about additional resources. Thanks.Verne Equinox (talk)22:22, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your efforts in adding geographic coordinates to articles, but please be more careful when doing so. For instance, the coordinates you added toCarnegie Building (Pittsburgh) indicated a location in Atlanta, Georgia, not Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; similarly, those you added toEighth Street Bridge (Pennsylvania) did not match the location specified in the article, and those you added toNorthampton Community College andSaint Teresa of Avila School (also in Pennsylvania) indicated locations in England and Los Angeles, respectively.
In addition, the{{coord}} template you're pasting into articles contains an intrusive URL within the word "type" in the parameters, causing the type to be malformed and unread. (And the correct type for schools is "edu", not "landmark".) In general, no references should be attached to uses of the{{coord}} template, since the coordinates are verifiable simply by clicking on them and consulting one of the online maps linked from the GeoHack page; and including material in <ref></ref> tags the way you are doing creates a stray citation marker below the text of the article.
Again, thanks for your work; however, you may want to read the information atWP:GEO carefully before continuing.Deor (talk)11:33, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for adding sources to articles, but when you are adding sources could you please only cite sources that satisfyWikipedia:Reliable sources. Several sources that you have recently added to biographies of living people are not reliable and do not justify removal of maintenance tags indicating that reliable sources are required. Thanks. --Michig (talk)18:32, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I just saw an edit you made to an article I created, Frank Munro, tagging it for needing additional sources. I'm not sure why this is needed - there are 3 sources on the page that all back up the same information - these are 3 very reliable sources that are used for thousands of articles. Is there something I'm missing?Terlob (talk)09:06, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The articleMustang coffee has beenproposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Didn't locate any substantive coverage on a search. Appears to be a non-notable coffee cocktail.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may bedeleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the{{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in youredit summary or onthe article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing{{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop theproposed deletion process, but otherdeletion processes exist. In particular, thespeedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, andarticles for deletion allows discussion to reachconsensus for deletion. ♠PMC♠(talk)11:05, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
