Women in Red

[edit]

Hi there, Marleeashton. and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to see you are interested in improving our coverage of Californian politicians and activists. I see you have recently been improving existing biographies of some of the women politicians. As you already have considerable experience as an editor, it would be good if you could assist us in chipping away at the gender gap by creating new articles about women. If so, you might find it useful to look as some of ourEssays, perhaps starting with ourPrimer for creating women's biographies. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk)10:10, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@ReppopThanks for letting me know. I'm going to take a look at the discussion and recent edits. I was hoping after the interaction I had with them it would stop or at least become constructive.Marleeashton (talk)07:16, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, now that the discussion is archived without anything changing, I'm actually tired of this person doing this. I'm pretty sure they keep and eye on these articles and revert anything we do, and even after talking they still don't change. It's the main reason why I gave up midway through trying to catch up on all their reverts.reppoptalk05:47, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Knock it off!

[edit]

Hey, User Marleeashton -knock it off! Don't just go around utterly unjustifiably reverting a new editor's first (and completely valid, and properly explained) edit. You want to run new talent off the encyclopedia (that it desperately needs)? There's no better way.

I don't mean to be contentious here, but if I see this pattern displayed again I will immediately report you to the administrative board in charge of new changes reviewers. You must act more responsibly than this.2601:196:181:BE00:8518:ECB4:790F:31D2 (talk)09:37, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You're editing image descriptions - not the article text. If you want to add more detail to the article text feel free to do so (it's not that big of a deal which is why I sent you a constructive editing note, not a vandalism note.) Also if you're a new user it's interesting that you're so familiar with the new change reviewers process? Anyway, have a great day!Marleeashton (talk)09:45, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What does editing image descriptions rather than article text have to do with it? Nothing! My edit summary specifically referencedcaptions. And there is nothingunconstructive about the edit, or the edit summary. Your defensiveness is not helping here: you were wrong to just summarily revert the edit. You need to admit that before doing it to the next new victim. And my familiarity with Wikipedia processes has absolutely nothing to do with any of this: it's about theedit andyour behavior - both your trigger-happiness in reverting a valid edit, then trying to defend it.
Obviously my concern here is people like youtrying to be helpful but having the net effect ofdriving away potential editors - who start with their first, and sometimes go on to rack upmillions if they like staying around. You've been here since 2014. How long would you have stayed if you had been treated the way you treatedthis editor on their very first edit?
Think about that the next time you are impelled to revert an edit without thinking the process through.2601:196:181:BE00:8518:ECB4:790F:31D2 (talk)10:26, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deprodding ofUpcountry

[edit]

I have removed the{{proposed deletion/dated}} tag fromUpcountry, which you proposed for deletion. I believe this is a malformed DAB and I will fix based onMOS:DAB; having said that, it was in a pretty weird form so I definitely get the PROD nom. 2022 San Bernardino mayoral election moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created,2022 San Bernardino mayoral election, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations fromreliable, independent sources in order to show it meetsWP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is ofcentral importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft todraftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Marlee, since you are an active Wikipedian with partial Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry and visit the mtDNA X haplogroup page, I wonder if you would like to weigh in on the current "Request new section to discuss Brook 2022 and later studies that confirm or disconfirm it" (related to DNA evidence) athttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Khazar_hypothesis_of_Ashkenazi_ancestry#Request_new_section_to_discuss_Brook_2022_and_later_studies_that_confirm_or_disconfirm_it which relates to multiple currently undiscussed peer-reviewed sources that could be summarized in some manner on the pageKhazar hypothesis of Ashkenazi ancestry, which has restricted-access for editing. I've recently undone several edits by a user registered last week which is cleary unfamiliar with our content and style guidelines, doing major damage to well maintained articles including deleting sources, adding large sections without citations and changing style templates without concensus - so please refrain from undoing my edits when they are clearly not the issue. Speedy deletion declined:First Lithuanian Republic

[edit]

Hello Marleeashton. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion ofFirst Lithuanian Republic, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not aWP:A1 candiate, as it is an attempt at writing about a period in the history ofLithuania.WP:10 may possibly apply, perhaps - please seeLithuania#20th and 21st_centuries. Thank you.Shirt58 (talk) 🦘08:39, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like it was moved to draft. @Shirt58Marleeashton (talk)02:13, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission atArticles for creation:Steven Gerben (actor) (May 31)

[edit]
Your recent article submission toArticles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Liance was:
This submission's references do not show that the subjectqualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not showsignificant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject inpublished, reliable, secondary sources that areindependent of the subject (see theguidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (seetechnical help and learn aboutmistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmitafter they have been resolved.

Thanks for the response to...

[edit]

our recent editing. Because of time demands, we have found the best balance to be thorough (and sometimes persuasion-attempting) edit summaries, rather than the combination of those and new Talk entries, as bot-driven reversionary edits most often ignore all but edit summaries (if even those are consulted before acting). We understand this is a minority, and somewhat rebelious perspective, but it derives, in our team, from combined registered WP editing experience of several decades (the shortest of ours being ~15 years here). With kind regard, one of a team, and a former res. univ. faculty member, and former reg. WP editor.98.226.86.66 (talk)08:12, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
