• The arbitration caseArmenia-Azerbaijan 3 has been opened and the proposed decision is expected 24 February 2023.
• In December, thecontentious topics procedure was adopted which replaces theformer discretionary sanctions system. The contentious topics procedure is now in effect following an initialimplementation period. There isa detailed summary of the changes andadministrator instructions for the new procedure. The arbitration clerk team are taking suggestions, concerns, and unresolved questions about this new system attheir noticeboard.

Hello,

A page that I created for my company was deleted for unambiguous advertising (called "Draft: SideChef"). I see that the original draft must have been very biased and would like to improve on that to avoid advertisement. I'd like to request the content for this deleted page whenever you have the time to do so.

Also, I have prepared a new draft for the page, and I hope I have removed all of the advertising tones. Is there any way I could receive feedback on this new revision? I would like to make sure that the content I submit is in line with Wikipedia's policies, as I don't want to cause any issues the second time around.

HiLiz, something strange has occurred. I see from the article history that it does look like I recreated that article, but I assure you I did not. I was doing some work inCAT:UNCAT where I found that linked. Theonly thing I did was to add categories. If you want to redraftify, I have no objections. OK, upon further looking at the logs, I think it was a weird edit conflict-type situation. The draftification and my adding a category happened in the same minute and apparently the system didn't know how to handle that. That looks like what happened: it was moved from article to draft without leaving a redirect, and half a minute later when you saved your changes to an article which at that point no longer existed, it appeared that you created it. I'm afraid I don't know for sure what might be causing that. I tried test-editing a couple of categories myself, and found that sometimes I was able to replicate the problem, but other times the tag was removed without a hitch — the difference did seem to hinge on whether there was other text on the page besides the tag (in which case the tag loitered around) or the tag was the only thing on the page (in which case it cleared properly), so you might be right that it was an issue of where the tag got placed, but I can't say that for certain. And since I just tag pages but am not one of the HotCatcoders, I'm not the person who can fix it, but I'll bring the issue toWP:VPT to see if somebody with more coding expertise can look into it.Bearcat (talk)16:04, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
