Hi! I've been trying to figure out how other editors run IAbotlike this, so I'm finally just asking someone. I know how to run jobs from themanagement console, but what tool are you using to run it in individual pages from your own account? Is this a module in AWB or something similar?Alyo(chat·edits)18:37, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
GreetingsJ04n, thanks for adding the album art toKing Zamar. I was wondering, since I heavily work on creating articles of songs and albums, how does one get permission to add an album art or a song cover art onWikimedia commons, or get it licensed underFair use?
Thanks in advance, I'll be on the look out for your response.

Greetings sirJ04n, a question, doesmusic recording certification alone help a (stub) page to stay afloat? (I do recall that certificates signify notability)
I once created "Amaphiko" before I became anautopatroller and it was marked as reviewed meaning it wasn't auto reviewed, so I was wondering if maybe I could create one more without faltering my account or would it be abusing my rights?dxneo (talk)06:57, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey dude,
Saw that you added a cover art for the Wig Wam album Wall Street (2012). The cover art that's currently in place is the European edition and according to the band, it's not the one they intended for this release. The artwork they wanted to use is the one that ended up on the Norwegian and Japanese edition. Some miscommunication between the band's Norwegian label and their international label caused a mix-up. See the following interview for a source on the matter:http://www.queensofsteel.com/2005/07/wig-wam-eng/
The album cover in question:https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Music4/v4/20/20/1b/20201bdb-f5ce-3a29-5761-e30df1822666/7332334361247.jpg/1200x1200bb.jpg
This artwork is the preferred version of the band and what they consider the album's 'real' artwork. Highly suggest that the album page use this one instead of the other cover art. I replaced the file that you originally uploaded (apologies for doing this right away instead of giving you a heads-up on the issue), but as this is technically not the right solution and I'm not too savvy with uploading and filling out the forms in Wikimedia, it would probably be best if you uploaded a new file and set this one as the main artwork. :DValhaIl (talk)19:50, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
TheWikiCup is a marathon rather than a sprint and all those reaching the final round have been involved in the competition for the last ten months, improving Wikipedia vastly during the process. After all this hard work,
BeanieFan11 has emerged as the 2023 winner and theWikiCup Champion. The finalists this year were:-
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year's WikiCup, whether they made it to the final round or not, and particular congratulations to the newcomers to the competition, some of whom did very well. Wikipedia has benefitted greatly from the quality creations, expansions and improvements made, and the numerous reviews performed. All those who reached the final round will win awards. The following special awards will be made based on high performance in particular areas of content creation and review. Awards will be handed out in the next few days.
The WikiCup has run every year since 2007. With the 2023 contest now concluded, I will be standing down as a judge due to real life commitments, so I hope that another editor will take over running the competition. Please get in touch if you are interested. Next year's competition will hopefully begin on 1 January 2024. You are invited tosign up to participate in the contest; the WikiCup is open to all Wikipedians, both novices and experienced editors. It only remains to congratulate our worthy winners once again and thank all participants for their involvement!(If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name fromWikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.)Sturmvogel 66 andCwmhiraeth.MediaWiki message delivery (talk)16:51, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

HelloJ04n, I have a small problem, someone translatedAfro house to Japanese, however the content written in the Japanese version does not correspond with the English/primary version or so the google translator tool say, and worst part is that I cannot CSD, PROD, AfD or even improve nor rewrite the article since I don't know Japanese. Could you please resolve this problem?
Thank you.dxneo (talk)14:01, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I noticed that you are an active member ofWikiProject Musicians. Therefore, I thought you might be interested in taking a look at an edit request I recently posted atTalk:Don_Ienner#Later_career. AlthoughDon Ienner is not a musician himself, as the head of Columbia Records and Sony Music, he helped launch the careers of many popular contemporary musicians, so I am hoping this might interest you. I wonder if, while you are already on the talk page, you would also look at a previous edit request I posted atTalk:Don Ienner#Columbia Records & Sony Music section, which was only partially implemented. I was in a discussion with another editor about the bullet points he did not implement, but he has not responded to me. I would really appreciate it if you can look and see what you think over there as well. Thanks,GarrettEye (talk)12:53, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for adding infoboxes to television articles. If you can, please don't add the complete list of parameters as those are just not useful for most articles and some are mutually exclusive so adding both is never helpful. If youreally must add empty values, useTemplate:Infobox television#Short which at least has lesser things to clean up after. Also, if you don't want to care about spacing, please use{{subst:Infobox television/subst as it automatically fixes spacing.Gonnym (talk)14:39, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The 2024 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with 135 participants. This is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2017.
Our current leader is newcomer
Generalissima (submissions), who has one FA onJohn Littlejohn (preacher) and 10 GAs and 12 DYKs mostly on New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:
As a reminder, competitors may submit work for the first round until 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February, and the second round starts 1 March. Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round; currently, competitors need at least 15 points to progress. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it onWikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome onWikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges (Cwmhiraeth (talk ·contribs),Epicgenius (talk ·contribs), andFrostly (talk ·contribs)) are reachable on their talk pages. Hey J04n, when creating album by artist subcategories (live, compilation, EPs, etc.) could you also include the categories “by artist” and “by Fooian artists” as well as any appropriate genres as parents? Also, it is not absolutely necessary to create such subcategories for an artist who releases a single live album or one compilation album. Nothing against it either but it can make things simpler to stick with the status quo.
Out of curiousity, what got you interested in creating categories and musician templates? You are a long-time editor but really haven’t delved in those areas previously. I know you have always done a fabulous job adding album covers to articles that didn’t have them, and I noticed this change when your creations began showing up onUser:AlexNewArtBot/AlbumSearchResult. Thank you for uploadingFile:Bad to the Bone (Inner Circle album).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required byWikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available fromWikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as animage copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance withsection F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at themedia copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука1310:57, 7 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, heads up, I don't thinkFile:Blue Paradise.jpg is the actual album cover forBlue Paradise; I believe that's just a placeholder image compiling all the different possible digipack versions available - no album will actually include the photos of all 9 members; each member's image is a separate edition (you can see in the store listing that you can select which member's digipack you want to buy).
I don't believe the actual standalone album cover has been released yet.RachelTensions (talk)01:02, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to ask aboutFile:Elvis Aron Presley (box set).jpg atc:COM:VPC orWP:MCQ because this cover art seems too simple to be eligible for copyright protection under US copyright law perc:COM:TOO US andc:Commons:When to use the PD-signature tag. Most signatures are ineligible for copyright protection under US copyright law, which means the only potentially copyright element for the cover art is the background itself, which looks fairly non-creative (at least at first glance). If this file can be relicensed as{{PD-signature}} or something similar, it can be moved to Commons. --Marchjuly (talk)04:57, 18 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I was in the process of uploading the cover art myself as I wasn't aware someone else would have done it right after I created the article. I already uploaded a file for it. You can delete it here:File:World Is Yours 2009.pngB3251(talk)20:07, 12 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thank you for all your hard work!
I would like to replace the artwork in some articles, can I just upload new files on top of the existing ones?
(Or you can just do it yourself if you have the time.) --Moscow Connection (talk)00:57, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Correction.

Hi there! Thank you for adding the album cover for theZombies 3 soundtrack! It is very much appreciated.
Can you also do that for theZombies andZombies 2 soundtracks please? Those ones have been missing covers ever since their pages were created.
Thanks!Cqntralls (talk)23:22, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Excuse me for disturbing you again.
The files "Operatic Arias and Duets as Sung in The Toast of New Orleans.jpg" and "Mario Lanza Sings Popular Songs from The Toast of New Orleans.jpg" depict one and the same cover. (Look, both say: "Operatic Arias and Duets as Sung in 'The Toast of New Orleans'").
The fileMario Lanza Sings Popular Songs from The Toast of New Orleans.jpg is of better quality, so you may want to rename it to "Operatic Arias and Duets as Sung in The Toast of New Orleans.jpg".
As for the albumMario Lanza Sings Popular Songs from The Toast of New Orleans, its cover is here:https://www.discogs.com/master/1053735-Mario-Lanza-The-Toast-Of-New-Orleans. --Moscow Connection (talk)20:55, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thank you for adding the single cover artwork for "Betcha Can't Wait" by East 17. Are you able to do "Do U Still?", "Someone to Love" and "Hey Child" single artwork to complete the East 17 pages? Thank you!
Hey! I noticed that theZombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires soundtrack has a new cover art since it officially released today. Do you think you could change it to that? You can probably upload a new version of the file. Thank you!Cqntralls (talk)04:04, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thank you for adding the cover art to the pages. Are you able to add the artwork for 'Pray (Odyssey version)' 2018 as it is their only infobox without a cover. The cover is that of the Odyssey album but just the image and no text, that is on Spotify, Itunes etc. Thank you.

I just made the template to add it, so feel free to just drop it in if you can and whenever you are able to. Thank you so much!

Thanks for adding an image for The High & Mighty's most recent album! I was wondering if you also were the one who uploaded it to the Commons? I'm asking as I want to do the same after creating the page, but I've always been at a loss as to what license to use when adding another's album art. There are dozens of pages that are missing their respective covers, and if I knew how to add them, it would be a great.Секретное общество (talk)22:22, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,I hope you are doing well. I'm writing to ask about the resizing of the cover forMarlene Dietrich: Der Blonde Engel – Die Retrospektive. I had understood that the original size, which was under 300, was the correct specification. Could you please clarify the reason for the change? Hello, J04n. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.
Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have atemporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with thetemporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.
