Mr & Mrs.

[edit]

Hi Ive noticed that you made some changes to the Mr and Mrs. Wikipedia page. i just wanted to let you know that some of those corrections are not necessary. There really is no need for a transmissions grid or the all Star Series especially, when there is already a grid for each series of the show. It is also not necessary to addStephen Mulhern in the infobox as a host as he is only hosting 1 episode and a simple note on te bottom of the 4th series episode gid would suffice. The way that it is right now is fine the way that it is.Thanks!66.130.78.67 (talk)18:41, 22 August 2012 (UTC)samusek2[reply]

Creation of galleries

[edit]

Hello, thank you for your recent edits to Eurovision Song Contest articles. I notice that you have stripped several articles of all their images and then placed them in a gallery section. Miscellaneous image galleries at the end of an article are not permitted as per the guidance atWP:GALLERIES.Wikipedia is not an image repository and images should only be included to enhance other content - putting a random gallery of images at the end of the article does not achieve this objective. Image galleries belong onWikimedia Commons and should be linked from articles using{{Commons}}. This issue has been previously discussed and consensus was that miscellaneous image galleries are not appropriate in "Country in the Eurovision Song Contest" articles. Please seeWikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision/Archive 5#Mass creation of galleries.

While beingbold is good, I would strongly recommend that in future, before making mass edits to multiple article, you please declare what you are about to do so others can comment and resolve any issues, whether they are minor or major. For instance, I would have also pointed out that there is not such word as "photogallery" - that is two words. Wikipedia is very pedantic when it comes to grammar and spelling in articles.CT Cooper ·talk17:36, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey CT Cooper, i was copying other article layouts (for example,Germany,Netherlands,Switzerland,Ukraine andUnited Kingdom).
The galleries are still in place on all those (with the section/s titled "Photogallery" for some reason) so thought i was helping out. Also that discussion was in November 2010, by only a few members including yourself, can't it be discussed again? Maybe consensus can change, some articles have pictures which cause blank spaces to form. I do understand grammar and spelling on here. Thanks for the advice. Sorry about this,Fort_esc (talk)18:24, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Image galleries were mentioned in June this year in a RfC, seeWikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision/Archive 10#RfC on the article layout of Eurovision Song Contest by country articles.WesMᴥuse22:31, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There's no need to apologise, Fort esc. Your edit was in good faith and you weren't aware of previous controversy on this issue. In fact, it looks like the one that didn't do their homework was me. Wesley has pointed to a discussion on galleries during the RfC, which occurred during my absence from the project when I wasn't paying attention. If I had of noticed I would have pointed out the 2010 discussion of the issue and the policy angle as well. I also wasn't aware that galleries had re-appeared in other articles - I still thought I had got rid of them all! Given the current suggestion, I think another discussion (presumably atWT:ESC) is a great idea and I believe we could come to a consensus. Possible compromises include simply copying the galleries to Commons and linking them from the articles, creating mini-galleries that's integrated into the article (i.e. satisfiesWP:GALLERIES by having non-random captioned images mid-article), or a mixture of the two. For the moment, I will leave the galleries in place but with a note that even if I don't complain about them, somebody else eventually will, as miscellaneous galleries are controversial on Wikipedia.CT Cooper ·talk19:06, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, the galleries at that RfC were a weird topic, to be fair. Nobody could make their mind up, so I was bold and did my usual test version on a live article (Ukraine's to be exact) merely to give an example of what we would be looking at. The next thing you know, other articles got rolled out with galleries before anything was even decided upon. And I was disheartened at the lack of participation at the RfC too, despite my generous extension of 2 months (with RfC tag) and an extra 1 month without. It's as if nobody cares about RfC's these days, and then when things get changed all hell kicks off. And I got accused of hogging the RfC too. Can't help it if I like to be seen as engaging in active discussions and a highly active editor (even if things are going to be a little bit hectic for the next 12 months). I'll update you about it on your talk page Coop.WesMᴥuse19:19, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The RfC was actually pretty clear. The majority of the people who commented on this topic were seeking a limit to the amount of pictures on the article. You did an example of what a gallery would look like but even in your comment you were not too supportive of the idea. I think there was a fair amount of participation in the RfC but after the incident about the OGAE, there was less participation.Pickette (talk)23:05, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Forgive me Pickette, but I am confused by what you mean? I never said the RfC was unclear, although I was referencing to the main point of the galleries issue which to be fair was a weird topic, as you pointed out, it went from one extreme to another. When I said lack of participation, I was again referencing to the galleries topic within the RfC, and not the entire RfC in general. As I have noted to Coop, I've found the culprit who has rolled out these galleries en-mass (an IP user who also opted for the "photogallery" phrase). So I'm waiting to see what Coop's view is on this, and what action (if any) needs to be taken next. Ideally I think the proposal made above about holding a debate atWT:ESC is feasible. But as most of us will be getting busier personally over the next couple of days, then it may be logical to postpone the discussions until the new year, and thus maximise our chances of mass-participation.WesMᴥuse23:12, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please move this discussion away from my talk page? I apologise for my stupid mistake and, if required, will help rectify it. I will stick to small edits in the future! Thanks,Fort_esc (talk)23:23, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That was the aim Fort esc. Hence why I continued over at Cooper's so that you would not get bombarded with talk page updates. Not sure why Pickette came here, when they opened a debate atWT:ESC which is ideally where we should all be at now, regarding this topic. Nobody is blaming you for making mistakes though. We are all human, and prone to mistakes. It is what helps us learn knowledge. Please, don't feel disheartened or discouraged. Every contribution (even the mistakes) are always appreciated.WesMᴥuse23:28, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw you were a member ofWikipedia:WikiProject Television Game Shows, and was wondering if you know anything about creating elimination tables for game show-type tv shows. In this article, two duos were split up and one person from each duo was eliminated, whilst the other one from each team were teamed up with each other. I was wondering if there was any precedent, because I don't know how to display it in the article.Ollieinc (talk)03:46, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry notice

[edit]

HelloFort esc. I noticed you reverted an edit of mine atMiracle (Paula Seling and Ovi song). In case you didn't see my message on the article talk page, this article (and several others related to Romanian celebrities) is a favourite target ofUser:Beleiutz, a long-term sockpuppeteer who persistently inserts copyright-infringing images and promotional text. Almost all major contributions toMiracle (Paula Seling and Ovi song) have been from his sockpuppets. Normally the sockpuppet edits are reverted as per our policyWP:EVADE. It's OK for you to reinstate them, though keep in mind that according to the policy this means that you are taking responsibility for their contents. If you want your reversion to stand then it would be great if you could check the material over for promotional language and copyright violations. (Beleiutz's English is also quite poor, so perhaps you could copy-edit any text you retain as well.) Thanks! —Psychonaut (talk)20:13, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion ofRevenge of the Egghead

[edit]

The articleRevenge of the Egghead has beenproposed for deletion because of the following concern:

What makes this notable enough to deserve a standalone article? I am tempted to merge this intoEggheads (TV series)#Revenge of the Egghead, but I'd like a second opinion before I do so.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may bedeleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the{{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in youredit summary or onthe article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing{{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop theproposed deletion process, but otherdeletion processes exist. In particular, thespeedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, andarticles for deletion allows discussion to reachconsensus for deletion.Launchballer17:11, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fort,

Just read your message at the CfD regarding country articles on Dutch Wikipedia. Do you happen to have a link for some of them, as it would be a great idea to use them and translate into English. This will now mean that we'd be able to make navigation templates for the respective countries - once the articles have expanded considerably of course.WesMouse16:01, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good work on creating all those new articles. I'm just sorting out the remaining templates for them, although I've just improved the style of the template, so I'll roll out the new version across all EYM articles. Only thing that is left to do is adding the country templates to any participant articles and tagging their respective talk pages with{{WikiProject Eurovision}}.WesMouse14:37, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

ABU Radio Song Festivals

[edit]

We have a problem with the ABU Radio Song Festivals. They were originally a biennial event, but I see that this has now become an annual thing. The infobox for ABU Radio has been designed specifically to handle a two-yearly event. As you will see on the 2014 article, it gives links from 2012 and 2016 - it is impossible to get the template to switch from skipping backwards 2 years and forward 1 year. SO I think we need to hold off any further while I figure out a way to fix this issue.Wes Mouse | T@lk19:00, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've sorted some fix for the template. I'm sorting out the complex side for the switch over between 2 to 1 year event. But from 2015 onwardsTemplate:Infobox ABU Festival should work as normal and navigate annually for either Radio or TV.Wes Mouse | T@lk19:51, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm confused as to why youcreated a redirect for the article? Its just cause a problem when I went to save the article, as it was not in redirect mode at the time I was creating the article.Wes Mouse | T@lk20:04, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oops sorry, i didn't realise you would be creating the article right now. Is there enough information?Fort esc (talk)20:11, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there is enough information to warrant an article. Take for exampleABU TV Song Festival 2015, andJunior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 - they have enough information to warrant an article. There are sources to show that the 2015 Radio Festival will take place, and its location plus date of the festival. The only time we wouldn't create an article is if there is nothing to verify facts.Wes Mouse | T@lk20:46, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That fix I attempted on the infobox template backfired. It resulted in both the Radio and TV articles using the same TV participant map. How i have got around this now is by reverting the template back toTemplate:Infobox ABU TV andTemplate:Infobox ABU Radio. However, the radio one now skips annually, rather than biennially. For the 2013/2014 articles I've used a different method which has worked. So we're good to use templates as normal from 2015 onwards.Wes Mouse | T@lk21:09, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Wesley Mouse: excellent work as usual. Thissource states that 15 member countries will take part. Can this be used? Also the country links on the main EYM/EYD pages go towards the ESC, how do we change the template (and keep the flags in place)? Thanks,Fort esc (talk)15:49, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That source is highly reliable, especially when the EBU chose Pilsen as the host city due to them also being the European Capital of Culture (to which that website if the official ECC website for the city). As for templates, perhaps having a look at (and maybe keeping a link on your main user page for future references) atWikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides will be helpful. Most of the templates require an additional code so that it instructs the link to direct to a specific page.Wes Mouse | T@lk15:54, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see what you mean with the directing to ESC articles. Leave the template coding as it is for now. I had asked AxG to update them (see here), but he must have forgotten to add|x=Dancers and|x=Musicians to the template algorithm. I'll ping him a quick reminder; and then once they've changed, the templates will already be in place on the articles and won't require being re-input.Wes Mouse | T@lk16:04, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The template{{Esc}} has now been modified so that it allows us to use coding for EYD and EYM.Wes Mouse | T@lk17:05, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Eurovision Song Contest's Greatest Hits

[edit]

FortEsc,

An idea for expanding content onEurovision Song Contest's Greatest Hits. Seeing as we have to cite sources for verifiability, and there are no written sources to help verify if we were to mention the video montages that also appeared on the show, then we can use{{Cite episode}} instead. This should help us mention facts like the video footage that was shown before an entry, or the appearance ofLys Assia. Just thought I'd share the tip with you in case you wanted to expand the article with further details.Wes Mouse | T@lk13:29, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

EditingThe Crystal Maze

[edit]

Hi Fort esc,

I am thinking of editing the article aboutThe Crystal Maze with a citation from its IndieGoGo webpage, where all the information about its new comeback is held.

On the one hand, the IndieGoGo page contains relevant information concerning the playstyle of the new Crystal Maze, but it would also link users to a site that offers to exchange goods and services for money, which could boost the campaign's success.

Should I include this citation, or should I modify my entry and find another, more suitable citation from, say, a news website?

Thanks,95StockM (talk)19:21, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello@95StockM: i was actually about to update the page today doing exactly the same.. i was going to useIndieGoGo andthis article as it states how much the team hope to raise to fund the project. However you could use another news source if you wish. IndieGoGo should be fine to use but i'm not sure..

Project members who wish to participate can now register or de-register at any time byclicking here.

The Project Cup judges,Wesley Mouse andCT Cooper, wish you all the best of luck.

Help!

[edit]

Ash, would you mind giving me a helping hand on sorting out some issues raised atTalk:Eurovision Song Contest 2015/GA1? I've responded to some points raised, and queried them. But I am currently in the process of trying to sort out moving house this week, and going to be extremely busy over the next few days. The reviewer has given me 7 days to address the points, and well, that is impossible when I'm moving this Friday and need to sort out clearing the current property. Junior Eurovision pages

[edit]

Fort esc, I have just cleaned up an entire mess of voting stats across all country articles for JESC.Jay-rd attempted to violateWP:NOTSTATSBOOK again by adding the entire voting patterns and original averages calculation too. I've reverted such content. However, upon inspection all of the voting history sections do not comply with the formatting and layout guides set by Project Eurovision. When you get a spare moment, would you be so kind as to check them all and rework them so that they follow the same layout as their ESC counterparts. Thanks.Wes Mouse 06:43, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Wesley Mouse: what exactly is the problem with the layout? I've had a quick look and can't see it. Thanks,Fort esc (talk)08:59, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Some for example,United Kingdom in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest#Voting history are in the correct layout. Whilst some likeBulgaria in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest#Voting history are slightly different. There is n uniformity in their style and layout. And some are out-of-date with the voting history.

Location maps on JESC articles

[edit]

Fort esc, not sure if you were aware of this, but location maps are not required on the annual contest pages for JESC, unless of course there was a bidding phase to select the host city. JESC article restructuring

[edit]

Hi Fort, hope all is well. Just a quickie really to seek opinion on some work I've been doing on [Country] in JESC articles. I've made a start on Albania for now, and if the improvements work better, then I am going to do the same across all of the other country articles. Before the extensive work the articlelooked like this. But after some hard source searching, I've managed to turn a poor stub into aglamorous C-class. Which if nobody has reverted my work, should still be intact asAlbania in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. What do you think? Major improvement, or more work required?Wes Mouse 16:36, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Wesley Mouse: Good thanks, you? I think it's obvious that the article is much better than it was so feel free to do the other pages. Let me know if you need any help. Also, don't forget to add links to EYM, EYD and EDC articles. Talking about extensive work, i recently improved the remaining Young Musicians (following on from the layout you used for the first three) and all Young Dancers year articles. Could you take a quick look at them? Thanks. Finally, i'm not sure if your aware but the EBU also organised a Magic Circus Show between 2010 and 2012. Surely this should have its own article on the English Wikipedia? (There's a participation map for it in the Commons)Fort esc (talk)18:42, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your valued opinion. If you wish to help improve the other articles, using the Albania one as a template, then you are welcome to help and it would be very much appreciated. Yes I had seen some work you had done, but only looked briefly at them. I shall have a proper good look and come back here to provide feedback, although I think they will be of high quality anyway, as your work is very high standard.
As for the Magic Circus Show; yes I was aware about that, and was meant to add something to the EBU article under the section about events they organise, but completely lost track and forgot to update it. However, whether they should have articles would depend on A) how notable the events are, and B) if there are a wide variety of independent sources in order to created annual articles and a parent article. If you can find any, then feel free to make a start on new articles. The EBU also have another new event starting next year called"Choir of the Year". There is a red link atEuropean Broadcasting Union#Eurovision Choir of the Year, but I am struggling to find more sources in order to start on a parent article for the event.Wes Mouse 19:31, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have done a few more alterations to Albania's article which I think has given it more edge and readability. And applied that toIsrael in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and it seems to work and flow much easier on both articles.Wes Mouse 00:09, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And we now have a new article,Kids Jury in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which should have been done a long time ago. The Kids Jury has become a regular feature in the contest, and having the information on the main JESC article would just make it messy over time.Wes Mouse 06:20, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good but i can't find any mention of it on the main article.Fort esc (talk)11:54, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The main article will eventually be the last article to improve, and then the Kids Jury will get noted within there. There way I've been doing these re-writes is work on the main article body for each country first. Once that has been improved, then the lead can be re-done to summarise the article. And then once all the countries are done, and their respective annual pages too (as some still don't have an annual page), then we will be able to work on the main JESC article, and pool together content from all country articles and rebuild the perfect main JESC article. The other articles are like the roots of a tree, and the parent JESC article is the tip of that tree. Start from the bottom at the roots, and work our way upwards. Makes the restructuring easier.Wes Mouse 15:59, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance with Serbia

[edit]

Fort, could do with an extra set of eyes keeping a watch onSerbia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The article has come under extensive vandalism from multiple IPs over the last 18 months, and very extensive edit warring in the last 2 weeks, from 4 IP's and 1 user who have been adding very large chunks of content that was unsourced, poorly written (clear Google Translator edits), and excessive in statistical data, like the ones made in this edit. The Serbian article nowlooks like this after a major re-write. I would be truly greatful for the help in preventing further vandalism, and if it doe occur feel free to issue the editors with the most harsh of warnings ever known. Thanks. P.S. If you would still like to help with the re-write, then a list can be foundhereWes Mouse  T@lk20:27, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Eurovision: Important Announcement

[edit]
WikiProject Eurovision
Important Announcement

Dear Project Member

Following aproject community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, andadvice from the lead coordinator ofThe Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards toall editing practises and manual of style policies. Aconsensus decision has been reached tofully removeALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition onoriginal research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it isnot Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles.

Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout atWikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you.

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in anedit war according to the reverts you have made onList of countries in the Eurovision Song Contest. Users are expected tocollaborate with others, to avoid editingdisruptively, and totry to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware thatWikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article'stalk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that representsconsensus among editors. You can post a request for help at anappropriate noticeboard or seekdispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporarypage protection. At the moment, I'm stuck with finding a source thatexpilicity states which broadcaster from Andorra was responsible for the 2006 broadcast. I would assume that it wasRTVA, given that they are the only Andorran EBU member, but that doesn't guarantee anything. Please let me know if you find anything useful. —Tuxipεdia(talk)03:02, 28 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added toCategory:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found atWP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact thebot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them atWikipedia talk:Non-free content.RonBot (talk)17:17, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

[edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up atthe contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your improvements toBBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician. You didn't source your statement, so I have addedBBC Alba to broadcast BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year final 2013, which also supports the claim for 2012. I can see it was also televised in2014 atBBC Online.

The next reference I can find is for2020 atBBC Online. So, I might just think that the Beeb has done a poor job of documenting it in the intervening years, except that if bilingual Mary Ann Kennedy last presented the awards in 2015, and Gaelic-speaker Joy Dunlop did not join Bruce MacGregor until 2020, then did Alba really broadcast it in English only from 2016-2019? Something doesn't add up.

I do know that the "adult" awardsMG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards are broadcast on Alba. Is there a possibility that you are confusing those with this youth award? --Monxton (talk)17:59, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Monxton: BBC Alba broadcasts have their own seperate BBC programme pages, which you have linked to one above. I have managed to find only 4 of them (2012 to2015), so they probably did not air it again until 2020. My mistake. Apologies,Fort esc (talk)19:06, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for helping to improve the table I created. I am not sure James Newman belongs on the list at all, since he never took part in a UK final. But to leave him out seems odd. Cliff Richard & Lyn Paul being considered multi-contestants seems confusing, too, although they were involved in competitions to choose songs, regardless of their status as a competitive artist. I've not yet been able to source full details of ASFE 1977, 1979, 1985 or 1986 for other potential multi-participants. Any help or thoughts always welcome to discuss wiki updates.12.215.3.254 (talk)19:46, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion ofSweden in Eurovision Choir

[edit]
Notice

The articleSweden in Eurovision Choir has beenproposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the{{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in youredit summary or onthe article's talk page.

In particular, thespeedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, andarticles for deletion allows discussion to reachconsensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to thehistory of each individual page for details. Thanks,FastilyBot (talk)09:01, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

Belgium atYoungs

[edit]

HiFort esc!. Nice to talk to you. I have a question for you regarding Belgium.

I haven't been filling out the Belgian participant broadcaster because I don't have the slightest idea which of the two has participated (meaning: has entered the competition) in each case, I am trusting you in the hope that you have more idea than me on this subject.

But seeing your last updates, were RTBF and VRT really able to send a joint entrant, they who hardly agree? It would be something extraordinary. Is this true, because you have indications of it, or have you simply filled in the field depending on who has broadcast the contest? Because neither the fact that they have both broadcast it means that they have sent a joint entrant, nor does the fact that information has been found about the broadcast by one and not yet by the other means that the first one was the one to enter the competition.Ferclopedio (talk)11:06, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, the information for the participating broadcasters is taken from the now-redirected offical EYD/EYM website (usually via an archived link from 2015), the programme booklets that were all previously available to view on Issu, or from a link to a EBU press release. Of course the more recent years are covered by Eurovoix etc. The broadcaster for the Netherlands is also a little harder to determine but I have used the same method.
Thank you for your recent contributions.Fort esc (talk)14:52, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So, you are saying that you are sure that inEYM 2000,EYM 2004,EYD 1995,EYD 1997, andEYD 2001, RTBF and VRT were able to agree to jointly select a musician/dancer for the contest and that they competed together.Ferclopedio (talk)16:31, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated these based on the broadcaster listed on the yearly page of the official website and the SRF pdf file is linked there for Switzerland 2004 (which also lists Albania as a participant that year).Fort esc (talk)17:22, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ferclopedio: Not sure about Belgium for 2000. Maybe we should add a note?Fort esc (talk)18:28, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I saw whatthis reference says for 2004, and the information there is also very vague.
Yes, in case of serious doubt, we better put a note like this (or similar, if you have a better wording) until we we find out:
"Both RTBF and VRT broadcast the contest and, as EBU member broadcasters, both were eligible to participate, but it is not known whether this was a joint entry or just an entry of one of them."Ferclopedio (talk)20:10, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

CZ at EYD2003

[edit]

Fort esc, sorry to bother you again, but I found an inconsistency and I can not verify it (links are death) to fix it.

It is regarding the Czech Republic inEurovision Young Dancers 2003. In the contest page, in the result table, it shows that they came second (in Contemporary), the text says that they only received an special "young jury" award. But in the infobox they appear aswinners, and the county pageCzech Republic in the Eurovision Young Dancers, says that they came first. And furthermore, inEurovision Young Musicians 2022 it says: "The winner was the Czech Republic ... marking the country's first win in the competition and atany Eurovision event since Eurovision Young Dancers 2003.".Ferclopedio (talk)12:44, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
