When anArticles for Creation reviewer declines or rejects a draft, there will be a pink box at the top of the draft explaining why. This will also have links to relevant policies and guidelines. Please read these before asking about your draft.
If Ideclined your draft, you can work on improving your draft, taking note of the policies, guidelines, and reviewer comments. If you need more detailed advice, you can ask at theAfC help desk,Teahouse, or this talk page. In general, I do not review the same draft more than once.
General advice: Read good articles. One of the best ways to learn how to write good Wikipedia articles is to learn by example andreadgood articles which have been checked against our core content standards. This link explains the process and includes lists of good articles sorted by topic.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, pleaseconsult the documentation and please get in touch onSuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly; your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!
Hi Claudie, Thank you so much for being my mentor on Wikipedia! I have read Wikipedia for decades and it has been a place from which I have learned a huge amount. Someone asked me recently why my company, which has been around for decades, does not have a Wikipedia page so I figured I would go create one.
Hi @Jasonmlong, welcome! If you've been reading for a while you'll hopefully understand that Wikipedia'spurpose is to build an independent and neutralencyclopaedia, not a business directory or advertising platform. Writing about your company would be aconflict of interest and we strongly discourage this. You would need todisclose your conflict of interest and role in the company as required by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, which your agreed to when you registered here. You won't be able to create this article directly, but must submit it toArticles for Creation. I hope you can appreciate that rules like these have helped keep Wikipedia an independent source of information for 25 years.ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)03:49, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@BritishAdmiral, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for helping out. Where over- or under-linking is concerned, context is important. For example, I'd be inclined not to link to "economist" in an article that's focused on economics or financial topics, but I would link it in an article that discussed the various professions or academic fields within the social sciences more broadly. Was there a specific article that you were unsure about?ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)23:27, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
You have createdtwo drafts which look similar but not identical: one onyour user page, and one inyour sandbox. Having two drafts for the same purpose is confusing, and reviewers will not review both drafts. In addition, youruser page should only be about your activities related to building the encylopaedia. It should not look like an encyclopaedia article. Please ensure that your sandbox contains your preferred version of your draft, then remove what's currently on your user page.
In both versions of your draft, an erroneous "decline" message was added when you submitted the draft for review. This only happens when somebody uses an AI chatbot to "help" them prepare a draft. Please answer clearly:Did you use AI to write your draft? Drafts that are written with AI goagaints our guidelines, and can be marked for deletion.
@QSERUS: Welcome to Wikipedia! Before you start editing, please ensure that you have thoroughly read thefive pillars andcore content policies of Wikipedia to understand what content does and does not belong here.Writing a completely new article is one of the most difficult tasks for a beginner. I recommend new editors spend a few weeks or monthslearning how to edit and practising with some of the manytasks available to clean up or improve existing articles. BrowseFeatured articles to see what the community regards as the best examples of articles on a wide variety of topics (articles don't start off looking like featured articles; it takes a lot of work to get to this point). When you have gained some experience and familiarity, if you want to try creating a new article, first check that you are not making anycommon mistakes, then thoroughly read the entirety ofyour first article. This will show you how to get started.ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)22:12, 20 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you found my first edit! Thanks for making me feel old ;-)It's good to add anedit summary forevery edit. It doesn't have to be very detailed – often one or two words like "fix spelling" might be all you need – but if it's a significant content change then more detail is better. Edit summaries appear inpage histories,Recent changes, and yourWatchlist, so when I'm scanning a list of changes it's helpful for me to see a few words or a short sentence explaining each change.ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)23:41, 22 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
One face upside down due to the existence of the negatives of Wikipedia; such as vandalism and edit warring, and one upside up for the positives; such as no ads, consensus, and friendly discussions with other editors.BritishAdmiral (talk) | 🙃🙂04:39, 23 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I am not actually interested in doing Wikipedia editing. I signed up because I believed I had to in order to use Wikipedia Translate. I am a genealogist and found a Wikipedia article that is written in Polish. I only speak and read English, so I wanted to translate it. The article address is: >https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ortynice<. I obviously don't know how to use Wikipedia Translate because, when I entered the address of the article, I was told the article was not written in Polish. Can you tell me in plain language how I can see the article about the community of Ortynice in English? --MghuffPeggy (talk)19:12, 22 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@MghuffPeggy, welcome to Wikipedia! Did you also askthis question at the Help Desk? If so, I think I may see the confusion as there's two widely different meanings of "translate" on Wikimedia wikis. One is using a specialtool (restricted to registered, experienced users) to help us edit or create an article on the English-language Wikipedia using text from another language Wikipedia. The other meaning is using aninterlanguage link from an article on one language Wikipedia to an article about the same subject on another language Wikipedia (this might be a full or partial translation, or two articles about the same subject but with different structure and content). It looks like you're asking about an interlanguage link whereas the responses at the Help Desk were about the editing tool. Unfortunately, creating multilingual content is a manual process; an article exists in a specific language Wikipedia because a volunteer had enough motivation to create one. In the case of specialised or niche subjects like small towns, it's more likely that an article about the town, if there is one at all, would only exist in the language spoken in that place. I can see in the sidebar ofpl:Ortynice that there are versions in a number of Central and Eastern European languages, and also in two Chinese languages for some reason, but there isn't an equivalent article in the English Wikipedia. If you don't read any of those languages, then the only option you have is to try an external machine translation tool such as Google Translate. (If you do so, you might want to give it the Ukrainian version atuk:Ортиничі as that article is more detailed than the Polish one.)ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)23:32, 22 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the explanation Claudine. I knew I was doing something wrong. I only speak, read and write English so I am obviously out of my league. The community of Ortynice hardly exists anymore. A cousin's ancestors came from there to Canada early in the 20th century and I was just trying to find out more about what the area was like for her. I thought it was in the Ukraine but apparently it is in Poland now. You are correct, I thought I was dealing with a translation app, but I wasn't. Wikipedia is pretty complicated to navigate. I'll just bow out from my Wikipedia account and quit bothering people. I read Wikipedia articles often because I love learning new things. I admire all of the multi-lingual, smart people who make Wikipedia happen. Thanks again...Margaret Huff, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.MghuffPeggy (talk)02:40, 23 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the review. I understand the concern about promotional tone and that Wikipedia isn’t meant to function as a product directory.
I did want to clarify one point that may have been missed. While the app uses the Gibson name, it isn’t developed by Gibson Brands, Inc. The Gibson App is produced by a Swedish company (Zoundio AB) that is partly owned by Gibson but operates independently. Because of that, it isn’t simply an internal Gibson product.
I understand the comments around notability and conflict of interest, and I’m not trying to argue policy, mainly just clarifying the structure in case it affects how the draft is evaluated.
@AlexanderZoundio: If you are using a large language model to write your comments or give you advice on drafting, pleasedon't do that. The human editors here do not want to talk to machines, and LLMs do not "understand" ourpolicies and guidelines. I understand that the Gibson App was not made by Gibson Guitar but by a third party. That doesn't mean the app can't be described at the Gibson Guitar article, and indeed there is already a brief section there. Did you (the human, not the bot) actually read my comments and all the links provided by me and the many previous reviewers? If you actually look at the top of theYousician article you will see that another editor has already flagged it as possibly not meeting our notability guidelines, which means it will either need stronger sourcing or could be nominated for deletion. It is more important to read and understand our policies and guidelines than to look at other articles as models, because Wikipedia has existed for nearly 25 years and our policies and guidelines have evolved a great deal over that period. If you want to look at model articles, you should only consider ourGood Articles andFeatured Articles, which have been assessed as meeting our current policies.ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)01:05, 26 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I understand you point, but you must realize it become an unfair competitive advantage for Yousician that has their own dedicated page and have had so for some time, when all the modern AI's are basing their recommendations on sources like Wikipedia. So you must realize we become a bit frustrated when not being able to compete on the same terms, just because Yousician has managed to get through the filters with a more allowing editor. And regardless of their article get removed, the damage is already done as AI as already been trained on it and will use it in the recommendations.
Sorry for my frustration, but perhaps you can empathize with it. I just want to feel that all companies are given the same terms to compete on, where Wikipedia obviously holds a lot of power in making that possible.
Before going further, I want to check your understanding of the feedback that you have already been given. Can you summarise, in your own words, the reasons that four different reviewers have declined your draft?ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)09:02, 26 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. The core issue seems yo me that you find the article being of a more promotional nature than an informative one. I've tried to adjust the article to be informative, but the latest feedback mentioned it's not really about the phrasing, but the nature of it, suggesting it should be incorporated in the Gibsons main page, while I argument that our competitors has been given the opportunity to have a dedicated page for their apps, which I have strong reasons to believe have given them an unfair market advantage in the age of AI, that pulls a large part of its knowledge from what is written on Wikipedia.
OK, you have correctly identified the main criticisms of your draft, but I suspect you don't understand why we are saying this. Both Pythoncoder and I declined it partly for being promotional. Our messages include links to policies and guidelines that explain why it's been declined for those reasons. Can you see the blue links labeled "read more like an advertisement" and "neutral point of view"? Please thoroughly read both of those guidelines. After you have read those, if you still don't understand why your draft was declined, feel free to ask me followup questions or ask at thededicated help desk.ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)10:06, 26 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

NPP unreviewed article statistics as of February 02, 2026
Welcome to Phase 2 of theJanuary–February 2026 NPP drive. DuringPhase 1, we reviewed 16,658 articles and 4,416 redirects, and there is currently a backlog of 16,475 articles and 23,782 redirects in the queue. Fantastic job! Completing 22,502 patrols in the first phase made a significant dent in the backlog. Let's keep our foot on the gas for Phase 2, and I hope we can achieve even more reviews than Phase 1. Best of luck!
Hello,I am writting to ask what corrections I should try to have a chance of the page being published. So I have a better understanding, what are the issues with the articles submitted ? Where any of them acceptabile and I can remove the articles that do not pass for acceptiable?
Boyds has been in buinsess for 85+ years. If I expand more on the history in relation to Philadelphia with historic building images related to the owners and how they operated over the many years in the philadelphia downtown area, would that help?
I did makem sure to disclose that I am an employee of Boyds. There are other similar retailers with Wikipedia pages and similar to them the prupose is to share the history of a family owned business that has been around for so long.
Thanks in advance for any advice editing the page so it has a chance of being published.
Hi @Howsyourrobot, I did indeed see your disclosure of employment, thank you. It is very difficult, if not impossible, for anyone with aconflict of interest to adhere to Wikipedia'sNeutral point of view policy when writing about our COI subjects, no mattee how good our intentions. That's why I don't write substantive content about my current or past employers, and it's why COI editors are required to submit drafts for approval. A common issue that I see with new editors writing about themselves or their businesses is not fully appreciating the nature of anencyclopaedia, which is an independent summary of whatsecondary sources have said about the topic. It's not an advertising platform, nor a business directory listing every business that exists.Theonly articles you should consider as models are those listed asGood Articles orFeatured Articles, which have been assessed as meeting our current policies. If you look at any of the Good or Featured articles about businesses and go to theiredit histories, you will see that they have generally been edited by many people, most of whom have no connection to the topic. No individual or businessowns the article about itself, and good articles are edited and maintained by volunteers who have in interest in the topic and its context, not by connected people who want to "share the history" of a business or represent the business's perspective. As a non-Philadelphian, I found this draft quite sparse and it didn't show me why Boyds meritedinclusion in a global encyclopaedia. Writing more about its origins and role in Philadelphia's history would improve the draft's chances of being accepted, as long as these additions are supported byindependent, secondary sources. For example, books and newspaper and magazine articles fromreliable sources are generally what we are looking for, but not official/authorised histories or interviews as these are not independent. Again, it is much easier for an enthusiastic volunteer with no conflict of interest to write an article that meets our criteria, but you can certainly give it a try if you take this advice to heart. I would also suggest not trying to add any images at all at this stage, and reading theImage use policy first.ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)07:59, 6 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
re PhabricatorT408987 –I like the flexibility of W-Ping, but each list entry is connected to an existing article/page ... I often link W-ping to a non-existent page. For example, on the first of each month I add a ping for an "article" like2026-02 so that my list of pings is divided into blocks giving some indication of age —GhostInTheMachinetalk to me13:28, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I named my article draft LACLL but I'd like for it to be named Los Angeles County Law Library instead. Is there a way to change that or should I draft a new article?Thank you. --Essielaw (talk)00:08, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Essielaw, don't worry about the title at this stage. Keep working on your draft where it is, and if it's accepted, the reviewer will give it the correct title (which you've put in the first sentence, so it should be clear to the reviewer).ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)01:00, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to Wikipedia, @Boybingo! It's OK to feel a little hesitant as there are a lot of rules here, but theSimplified ruleset andSimplified Manual of Style have what you need to know to get started. You should have a personal homepage with suggested edits to start with, but only pick the ones that interest you or you feel confident about. Keep reading articles in your areas of interest to get a feel for the style and layout of articles. Don't worry, everyone makes mistakes sometimes, just be open to feedback from other editors, and have fun!ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)21:35, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I love your enthusiasm, but I feel you're unlikely to get the permission right now. Your account is 23 days old, not evenextended confirmed yet. ThePCCRITERIA don't have a strict threshold forenough edits that a track record can be established but in practice you'd need to have been around for a few months to be able to demonstrate this. It's not meant to be gatekeeping, it's just that it can take a few months to really get a feel for all the rules here. Keep up the good work you've been doing, with a general mindset of improving the encyclopaedia. In a few months you will have a better sense of which areas you like working in and might be able to see how specific tools or permissions would improve your workflow.ClaudineChionh(she/her ·talk ·email ·global)05:31, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
