I am honestly quite surprised that my submission got noticedso..quickly, but perhaps that is due to the fact that I had gone for articles high up onWP:WANTED's list, when I was searching for articles to create. -BlueEleephant (talk)17:49, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @BlueEleephant. Nothing to it, I just clickedRandom draft to review, and yours happened to come up.qcne(talk)17:52, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay. I just checked at WP:AFC again and I realized the odds that my draft would have been noticed so quickly are about a180 chance, considering that there are ~500 AfC submissions that still haven't been reviewed... -BlueEleephant (talk)18:08, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Last month the backlog was 3,500 unreviewed drafts, so you submitted at a good time. :)qcne(talk)18:10, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Is the "It may take 2-3 weeks for your draft to be reviewed." message intended for when there are several thousand unreviewed drafts, or several hundred? -BlueEleephant (talk)18:12, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That is just an estimate - when there are several thousand unreviewed draft the message changes to "2-3 months". It just so happened I came across yours and reviewed it. It's not a queue, they're mostly reviewed in random order.qcne(talk)19:05, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I know the submissions are reviewed in a random order, I was wondering if that message mean that it could take 2 weeks to review 800 drafts, or 8,000 drafts. But, it is good to know that the message changes, because reviewing800 drafts is nowhere near as easy as reviewing8,000 drafts. -BlueEleephant (talk)19:43, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed! We're currently in a backlog drive, so much more reviewers are happening than normal.qcne(talk)19:46, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
