Hello, I'm asking your advice on the dispute with Volunteer Marek. Please note that while I'm not a newcomer, I'm relatively inexperienced about conflict resolution on en.wiki.
Recently I hadthis conversation with User:Boud. The topic is withdrawing my ANI complaint and opening an AE request. At ANI you invited us to find a compromise. While I think that that is both desirable and possible with regard to the contents of the article on war crimes, I doubt we can compromise on civility. But the point is: as a relatively inexperienced editor, I might have misunderstood the standards of civility and tendentiousness that this community deems acceptable. If that is the case, I'd rather stop it here, don't waste my and other people's time, and possibly move to less controversial topic areas leaving the floor to others who have the stomach for this. If, on the other side, I haven't made a blatant mistake on civility and tendentiousness, and Volunteer Marek's behaviours are contrary to our guidelines and policies, or at least they are in a "grey area" where reasonable people could disagree on their appropriateness, then I'd be happy to bring the case to AE.
I'm not particularly keen on writing another complaint and I'm aware that this could easily backfire, but it might be worth it: exposing the way they behave and asking AE to uphold our policies might be the right thing to do, as I think that their contribution is quite harmful in that topic area. If in the process I get topic banned or blocked, that would be unpleasant, but not too hard to deal with: I have other projects and interests.
So the question for you is: AE or not AE? Your advice is very much appreciated.Gitz (talk) (contribs)00:40, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The fileFile:Mirsky Book Cover.jpg has beenproposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Improper use of non-free content. The image is used only on an article about the subject of the book, not the book itself, and there is no "critical commentary of the work" to speak of.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may bedeleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the{{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in youredit summary or onthe file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing{{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop theproposed deletion process, but otherdeletion processes exist. In particular, thespeedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, andfiles for discussion allows discussion to reachconsensus for deletion.Revolution Saga (talk)07:35, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, many years ago, thisuser:piotrus frustrated me quite a lot with his views about Russian history atTalk:Tsarist_autocracy#My_two_cents._Article_deletion.. Somehow, I stumbled across this very old discussion about what you labelled 'concentrated stalking and attacks against Russavia' and saw that this person was involved[1]]
So many years ago, I was frustrated by the way Wikipedia functions, allowing an uninformed person like Piotrus to google some things and then set up a misguided article, only to defend it forever by referring to some vague quotes on google books. Books he has never read, not understanding the underlying scholarly debates, not understanding which publications are good and which ones are marginal. So much forWP:OR, right?
You don't really need to answer this, but do you think the involvement of Piotrus in that earlier stuff about Russavia means that Piotrus simply wanted to put the monarchy in Russia in a particular light, without caring about academic accuracy?2001:1C02:1501:4200:B507:65BE:A5C8:7A73 (talk)09:41, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Could I know why Kazakh movies and Kazakh celebrities are automatically categorised in the Russia list by the AlexNewArtBot? And how may we avoid this in the future?
