Hello! I am Renerpho, or Daniel Bamberger in real life.
While this Wikipedia account was created in 2015, and I have occasionally edited on the German Wikipedia since 2012, I only really began to consider myself a "Wikipedian" in 2018. I never really bothered to create a user page, but the tower of user boxes below characterizes me well enough.
I have written about my potentialconflicts of interest ona separate page. I think there are some important things to say about that. I previously did so directly here on my user page, but that eventually became cluttered. I have conflicts of interest about a few topics on which I have worked more or less regularly.
If you see an issue with an edit I made, let me know. I have made some questionable edits particularly in my early days as a Wikipedia user. If you find such an edit, I'd like to be made aware of it.
I have on occasion written about problems with Wikipedia, and specifically with some of the articles listed above. These posts reflect my opinion at the time of publication.
^To this day, this remains the page I have edited the most: 595 edits, all but a handful of them made over the course of a few hours on 1 April 2020, documenting the edit war as it happened (while at the same time making another 150+ edits toWikipedia:April Fools/April Fools' Day 2020 as an active participant in the --then considered legal -- edit warring). A real anomaly, and something I am sure I will never repeat. There are few things in my editing history that I feel so ambivalent about. I am proud of the effort that was involved in documenting the event; I am also embarrassed that it is about something so ... whimsical. We really went too far with the edit war itself, and we knew it. Edit wars over the April Fools Day page were made illegal shortly after, and I think that's both the right decision and also a tremendous shame. I have actively participated in making all subsequent April Fools' Days on Wikipedia a lot less fun, and that sucks. Sorry.
