Kirill Lokshin was anadministrator on the English Wikipedia (2005–2021), and served on itsArbitration Committee (2007–2009, 2010–2013, 2016–2017) and as the firstlead coordinator of itsMilitary History WikiProject (2006–2008).

He was one of the founders ofWikimedia District of Columbia, and served on itsBoard of Directors (2011–2022, as secretary from 2011 to 2015 and as president from 2015 to 2022). He also served on theAffiliations Committee (2014–2019, as vice-chair from 2016 to 2017 and as chair from 2017 to 2019), theWikimedia Movement Strategy Working Group on Roles & Responsibilities (2018–2019), theGrant Advisory Committee (2012–2013), theIndividual Engagement Grants Committee (2014–2016), theSimple Annual Plan Grants Committee (2015–2018), theProject Grants Committee (2016–2017), and as the ombudsman to theFunds Dissemination Committee (2015–2019).
