I amKaren Daniels, orKarenWrite onWikipedia. I'm new to Wikipedia and started playing around here as an editing sport during the great Covid 19pandemic of 2020 (July 8 to be exact). I mean why not, right? Though relatively new to Wikipedia, I’m a California-basedauthor, freelance writer, ghostwriter and editor of more than 2 decades. My freelance writing brings with it the opportunity to deep dive and learn an amazing array of topics in order to be able to write as aprofessional in those fields. This always-be-learning-awesome-job has led me to become well-versed in many areas such as:
Because I learn a lot about many different industries and client businesses I contribute when and where I can and 99% of the time I do this for fun. Currently this client asked me to edit their page so I am disclosing that here.
Let’s pause on…Educational Psychology, specifically Gifted Education, and talk about this one for a moment. I have my M.A. in Educational Psychology/Gifted Education and am former editor for the California Gifted Association and have been featured speaker at conferences on creativity and parenting gifted children. So I have a fair amount of expertise in this particular area. If you know of any pages or spots that could use help in this area I would love to help.
In addition to my writing gigs I am a 3rd degree black belt in both empty hand karate (Shorin Ryu) andMatayoshi Kobudo (UnderTadashi Hanshi Yamashita). I teach, train, and study martial arts and love to geek out on it.
As a professional writer I use Wikipedia all the time – for research and fun, and I love the idea of free global resources from which we can all benefit. .
So far, I’ve mainly done:
Copyediting
Fixing spelling and grammar errors
Adding information on pages I know something about
Please alert me to any blunders or mistakes, thanks!
